That's it from us after a hugely dramatic afternoon and evening of All-Ireland SFC Preliminary Quarter-final action.

And the best was saved until last as a hugely exciting encounter ended with Derry beating Mayo in a penalty shootout after the sides had been locked together at full-time and extra-time!

We will be back tomorrow with text updates of the Tailteann Cup semi-finals involving Antrim and Down, plus news of the final All-Ireland quarter-final between Louth and Cork at Inniskeen.

Until then, enjoy what remains of your Saturday evening.

  2. 'You'll get criticism when you're not performing'published at 21:21 British Summer Time 22 June

    AET: Mayo 1-12 Derry 0-15

Man of the Match Gareth McKinless speaking on GAAGo. "We came here, we knew what we could bring and we brought it today in spades. When we look back at the video, we'll be annoyed we didn't finish it off in normal time but, look, we're into the next round and that's it.

"It's the same with any sports team, if you're at the top, or trying to get there, you'll get criticism when you're not performing. Some of it was deserved, we weren't at ourselves over the last number of weeks and maybe months.

"We sat down, we looked at it, we ironed it out. We knew Mayo was probably the hardest team in the draw, we knew coming down to Castlebar wouldn't be easy but we set up with a gameplan and we executed it.

"It's a cruel way to go out and I feel for Mayo. Someone has to win at the end of the day and thank God it was us."
