Oscar Piastri made that [move on Yuki Tsunoda] look very easy.
It will be frustrating for the Red Bull team to have given that instruction but there was literally nothing he could do which highlights that pace deferential between the McLaren of Piastri and the Red Bull of Tsunoda.

Well, job done for Oscar Piastri. The faster McLaren needs no invitation on the straight to make a move and he zooms past Yuki Tsunoda to take the Japanese driver's 10th place.
Yuki Tsunoda has been given his first instruction as Max Verstappen's team-mate: hold up Oscar Piastri as much as you can. The Australian has pitted and is climbing his way back up the field quickly from P11.

Charles Leclerc has set the fastest lap of the race and that car seems to be working better on the hard tyre than it was on the medium tyre earlier on in the race.
Lance Stroll is next to be called in by Aston Martin but it's a slow stop for the Canadian and he's now rejoined the track down in P17. Max Verstappen is still leading this Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix - the Dutchman has stayed out - from Lando Norris and the Williams of Alex Albon, who have also yet to change their boots.

Maybe these [medium] tyres are not hanging on as well as everyone predicted they might. We might see some early pit stops and we may even see some two-stops happening.
Fernando Alonso also headed in to change his tyres but as the Spaniard exited the pits, there were flames on his left-hand wheel. His back out in P15 and doesn't to be too affected by that small incident.

Matt: You know for a fact that if the Verstappen move on Piastri had been the other way round Max would have run Oscar off the track. There's a difference between hard but fair racing & driving dirty...
Ashic: Commentators going crazy about Verstappen's late braking but I think Piastri messed up... Braked too early protecting from Russell. Russell's message on the radio suggests that as well.

That was a really good move from Lando [Norris] and he had to get it done quickly. He's got a seven-second gap to his team-mate, it sounds like a lot but it's not the end of the world with a long way to go in this grand prix.

The final podium place has changed hands. Lando Norris goes to the inside, then the outside and finally he blasts past the Mercedes of George Russell just after the Villeneuve chicane. Norris is third, Russell, who now comes under pressure from Fernando Alonso, is fourth.
George Russell is pushing hard but with Lando Norris the cat and him the mouse, his target lap time is becoming a chore to hit. The pair are at the end of the lap, so Norris spies the opportunity when the two eventually reach the Tamburello chicane, to strike.
'Crucial for Norris to get past Russell'published at 14:17 British Summer Time

It's crucial for Lando Norris to try and find a way past that Mercedes [of George Russell] as it's a little off the pace of the front two, and Norris does not want to get caught up for too long behind Russell.
