    Max Verstappen closes out his opening flyer with a 1:30.925 to go top of the timesheets. Isack Hadjar places his Racing Bulls car second behind the Dutchman, but now that's turned to third, as Oscar Piastri jumps up to provisional pole.

    Look at how close it is, two-tenths are covering about six cars.

    Two cars that absolutely stand out are [Racing Bulls'] Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda in fourth and fifth.

    Max Verstappen wiggled his Red Bull between the two McLarens in that second qualifying session. The Dutchman was 0.355 seconds off the top time of Lando Norris.

    Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda are doing a fantastic job for Racing Bulls today. Both drivers are in to the pole shootout, with rookie Hadjar the quickest of the pair finishing in fourth place to Tsunoda's fifth.

    Charles Leclerc was seventh and Lewis Hamilton was eighth for Ferrari.

    Esteban Ocon drops Nico Hulkenberg into the drop zone after lifting his Haas to 10th place. The Frenchman is right back in trouble, however, as Isack hadjar in the Racing Bull goes fourth on the leaderboard.

    Red Bull's Liam Lawson, who will start the race in last on Sunday, told Sky Sports: "It's really tough, the window is really small, it's honestly not an excuse, I've got to get a handle of it.

    "It was a messy session and had we of not dealt with traffic and stuff like that, we might have been ok but it's not good enough to be having those issues and that being the reason that we get knocked out.

    "We should be fast enough on our fast lap, it shouldn't be an issue. I just need to get on top of it."

    Nico Hulkenberg in the Sauber and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc are just hovering above the elimination zone in 10th and ninth respectively.

    Kimi Antonelli is on the Mercedes team radio to say "the magic is stuck", which we all know was a button made famous by Lewis Hamilton in Azerbaijan in 2021.

    I think a lot of it with Lando Norris and McLaren is just finding that sweet spot of the tyre warm-up and getting the tyre in the right window for the lap.

    Lando Norris has brushed off any sprint disappointment to go top of the timesheets by four tenths from McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri. Max Versatappen has popped up in third place, as everyone heads back in to the pits to prepare for their next runs.

    Andrew Priestley: one-and-a-half weekends into the season, and the talk of replacing Liam Lawson in the second Red Bull seat is already at fever pitch. A double 20th place qualifying performance is bad enough, without factoring in that both Racing Bull drivers ended Q1 in second and third.

    With the atmosphere a little bit more relaxed, George Russell puts his car above team-mate Kimi Antonelli to lead the pack. His time is quickly beaten, however, as Oscar Piastri goes a tenth faster in the McLaren.

    The Racing Bulls of Yuki Tsunoda is up near the front once again, running in fourth place.

    Oliver Bearman is out of qualifying but the British Haas driver is going to be investigated after the session for allegedly impeding the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll in Q1.

    The soft tyres are bolted on once again and it's Kimi Antonelli who goes top in the Mercedes with a 1:31.590.

    It's more wide open than I thought for pole position, you've got the two Ferraris that could do it, you've got both McLarens if they could put a clean lap in, you never know, and never ever discount Max Verstappen.

    Lando Norris was the only driver to bank a time in the 1:30s in the first part of qualifying, leading the two Racing Bulls and the Mercedes of George Russell.

    Russell was actually on the team radio to tell his side of the garage just to take a breath and chill out. "Too stressful, guys," he said.
