I don't want to take the podium away from Lance Stroll, absolutely not, but seeing Nico Hulkenberg popping that bottle of champagne would be a great sight. The pair of them need to careful, though, because Lewis Hamilton is close to the rear wing of the Sauber.
Oscar Piastri stays ahead of the pack but the Australian has a hefty penalty hanging around his cockpit. He's 15 points clear of Lando Norris in the championship but his British team-mate is closing on a victory on home soil.
Lance Stroll is keeping hold of the final podium place but Lewis Hamilton, the nine-time winner around these streets, is catching the midfield cars, hoping to swipe that third spot for himself.
Max Verstappen is now stuck in the mud down in 10th, sandwiched between the two Williams of Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.
The gap between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris is still over three seconds, so if the Briton can keep his nose dry, a maiden British Grand Prix will be his.
Lewis Hamilton has climbed the field again. The Ferrari driver spots Pierre Gasly napping in the Alpine and is now running in fifth place. Nico Hulkenberg is his next target.

Lewis Hamilton is reliving old glories as he's revelling in these conditions and closing down now on Pierre Gasly. I think it is inevitable that he's going to crack.

Following on from Max Verstappen's spin (he's now down in 10th place), his Red Bull team-mate Yuki Tsunoda has been handed a 10-second penalty for causing a collision with the Haas of Oliver Bearman.

It is looking good for Lando to get that dream British Grand Prix win because he is not under pressure from Lance Stroll. He can sit there behind Oscar and doesn't have to overtake him but let's see what happens down the line.
Piastri handed 10-second time penaltypublished at 15:58 British Summer Time

Oscar Piastri has been handed a 10-second time penalty for that safety car infringement at the restart. The Australian is three seconds ahead of his team-mate - and championship rival - Lando Norris, so we could see a British winner here today.
After the incident on the Hanger Straight Max Verstappen did something that I never expected him to do. He spun before the race had even re-started. It's so unlike him. In his own mind, I don't think Oscar did anything wrong, he got himself revved up about it and forgotten who he is almost.

Callum: All this talk of Piastri being calm and collected and he goes and does something idiotic like that when in complete control. Stonewall penalty. What was he thinking?
Not a single car is on full wet tyres, the tyre needed in these conditions. If they really are that poor then Pirelli being the tyre manufacturer really does need to be reviewed.
Russell overtakes Hamiltonpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time

Copse corner is completed by Lewis Hamilton but the slippery conditions cause the seven-time world champion to go off the track, opening the door for George Russell to nick his sixth place heading to Maggots.
