That was absolute perfection from France with the cross-kick. There was very little Jasmine Joyce-Butchers could do about that.

Back in the team, and back scoring tries against Wales!

France collect the line-out and Carla Arbez's cross-field kick is measured to perfection for Emilie Boulard to collect on the full.

It's a wonderful move by the hosts, who take the early lead.

Wales' preparation was not ideal with the traffic delay but the whole thing about sport is you have to prepare for uncertainty and sometimes things do not go to plan.

  12. Last Wales win over France?published at 12:43 British Summer Time 12 April

    France v Wales (12:45 BST)

You have to go back to February 2016 for the last time Wales beat France in the Women's Six Nations.

Dyddgu Hywel and Safi N'Diaye exchanged first-half tries in Neath, as the score was level at 5-5 at half-time.

And while Wales held France to a single Audrey Abadie penalty in the second half, they scored what proved to be the game-winning try through prop Megan York.

It was a special afternoon which ended France's hopes of a Grand Slam and secured Wales' qualification for the 2017 World Cup in the process.

Since then, Les Blues have recorded eight straight wins over the women in red, winning home games by an average margin of 30 points.

Tackling raging fires or ferocious rugby players is not for the faint-hearted, yet it is something Wales prop Jenni Scoble embraces with total commitment.

The 32-year from Cardiff is juggling a Test career with being a full-time firefighter with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

She joined the service in 2023 and says it had "always been a dream" to do so.

"I held off from going for it and then just had the confidence one year to have a go," Scoble said.

"I applied one or two times and then I got in. It's an incredible career, it doesn't really feel like a job. Some days are obviously tough, but I've always wanted to do it."

Scoble follows in the line of several internationals who have combined careers in the fire service, with the likes of Naomi Thomas, Rebecca Openshaw-Rowe, Rafiuke Taylor and Shona Powell-Hughes Wakley all coming before her.

Playing France away is always an electric game with a phenomenal crowd and atmosphere.

Sean Lynn has probably valued the fallow week and I am sure it has been valuable preparation time for Wales.

As Ceri has just said, Wales had an eventful travel day on Friday but head coach Sean Lynn says his side have taken the travel issues in their stride.

"It was a long old journey for us and we got caught in traffic," Lynn told BBC One Wales.

"It did not stop the smiles on their faces and it says everything about this group, because we could not control what happened.

"We are going to enjoy this and embrace the atmosphere which we know can be hostile. I have just asked the players to be brave."

Wales have never beaten France away and they certainly won't be helped in their quest after yesterday's 13-hour travel day.

The team left the Vale Resort in Cardiff early Friday morning, flew from Bristol to Bordeaux and then took a coach down to Brive.

But a road accident caused massive delays on the French motorway, meaning the team didn't arrive at their hotel until 8pm.

They didn't make their team run at the stadium which had been scheduled for 6pm, so they will arrive today completely unused to their surroundings and surely a little bit tired.

    Less than ideal.
