England have faced a couple of obstacles on the road to this Commonwealth Games. Captain Serena Guthrie announced her pregnancy and retirement from netball earlier this year and experienced mid-courter Beth Cobden is also missing the tournament through injury.
But head coach Jess Thirlby has still opted for a strong starting seven for their opening match against Trinidad and Tobago.
Six of the players who won gold on the Gold Coast in 2018 are in this year's squad.
There's two Commonwealth Games debuts in Layla Guscoth and Laura Malcolm, alongside experienced heads Geva Mentor, Nat Metcalf, Helen Housby and Jo Harten and England's most capped player ever Jade Clarke.

English swimmer Adam Peaty and rapper Mist teamed up before the Games. Just have ganders at these gems.
India 104-3 v Australia (13.4 overs)
A little over six overs to go and India remain on top.
They reached their three figures after 13.2 overs and will be targeting a big score at Edgbaston.

Wow. Goosebump-inducing volume to welcome England into the NEC Arena.
The lights go down and a spotlight hits the Roses, before each one runs onto the court to a huge roar.
It's going to be a special week for the defending champions.
HT: South Africa 2-2 Scotland
Half-time in the hockey between Scotland and South Africa and we're all square.
Scotland started off the second quarter on the front foot, equalising through a Sarah Robertson tap-in after great play out wide from Millie Stieger.
But they have had to ride their luck at times. Goalkeeper Amy Gibson produced a stunning save to deny Lilian du Plessis from close range midway through the second quarter.

There's a lot of excitement within Welsh Cycling about their sprint trio of Rhian Edmunds, Emma Finucane and Lowri Thomas.
They won the UK title in March, before beating Great Britain to bronze in the Glasgow Nation Cup in April.
The Commonwealth Games will be a big step up but these three debutants will be hoping to show what they can do.

I regret to inform you that we've just had a Mexican wave here.
It was encouraged as part of the pre-session show ahead of the second men's qualification session, which suggests we are going to have so, so many Mexican waves over the next few days at Arena Birmingham.
In fairness, the atmosphere here is fantastic with the next session a quarter of an hour away and it's only going to get louder with home nations Wales and Northern Ireland about to be introduced to the crowd.

In rugby sevens, England's hopes of reaching the men's quarter-finals have been severely dented after they were stunned by a 34-0 defeat at the hands of Samoa in Coventry.
Steve Onosai scored a first-half hat-trick with Vaafauese Apelu Maliko adding another try to give Samoa a 24-0 half-time lead.
Vaovasa Afa Sua and Faafol Falaniko extended the advantage in the second half with tries as England had no answer to the pace and power of Samoa.
With only two sides to qualify from Pool A and New Zealand still to play, England will struggle now to reach the last eight.
India 94-3 v Australia (11.4 overs)
India are on fire as Shafali Verma strikes three fours in a row to race to 48 off 31.
But Australia bounce back once again with Verma edging a sweep off Jess Jonassen behind to the keeper next over.
No 50 for Verma today.

What Alex Yee has done today to pull back this gap on one of the best triathletes in this sport is nothing short of exceptional.

Alex Yee takes gold for England. What a storming 5km run from the Olympic silver medallist.
Hayden Wilde gives Alex Yee a congratulatory pat on the shoulder as they run alongside each other.
The New Zealander has been told he will have to take a 10-second penalty in the sin-bin for not putting his cycling helmet away properly in the transition - and that happens within sight of the finish line.

England's Alex Yee can see New Zealand's Hayden Wilde tantalisingly close in front of him.
The gap is down to three seconds.
Scratch that. Yee is on his shoulder.
This is about to get messy.

England's Commomnwealth win in 2018 was one of the biggest moments of the Gold Coast Games.
It was the first time a Commonwealth final had not featured both Australia and New Zealand and Helen Housby scored a last-second goal to snatch an unexpected gold medal from the hosts.
Today might not live up to that drama, but the NEC Arena crowd is still bringing the volume for every move England make in their warm-up.
Women's tandem B sprint semi-finals

Two races down in the women's tandem B sprint semi-finals and Australia's Jessica Gallagher (pilot: Caitlin Ward) is through to the gold medal final.
She outpaces Scotland's Libby Clegg (Jenny Holl) for a second time, so Clegg will go through to the bronze medal final.
They must wait a little longer to learn their opponents though.
England's Sophie Unwin (Georgia Holt) wins the second race against Aileen McGlynn (Ellie Stone) to level their head-to-head. They'll go again to decide a winner shortly.

A huge cheer for Alex Yee as he continues to chase down leader Hayden Wilde.

Alex Yee still has work to do. He has pulled back Hayden Wilde to within touching distance. We know Yee has a better finish but he needs to be a few seconds closer.

The gap is down to seven seconds after the first of two laps of the run course.
Alex Yee is chewing up the gap, but has Wilde kept something in the tank to put in a kick and ask a little more from the Englishman?
Benjamin: Come on Alex Yee!!!

This is boiling down to the duel we expected.
Alex Yee is looming large in the wing mirrors of race leader Hayden Wilde.
The gap is down to about nine seconds.
