    Look at that smile!

The sort of face we pull when we realise it's £1 tacos on a Tuesday.

And the sort of face an athlete pulls when they have won Commonwealth Games gold... again!

The image of a golden grin for English diver Jack Laugher feels like the perfect way for us to finish.

    See you again tomorrow!

  8. 'The crowd have taken England to a famous victory'published at 22:25 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    New Zealand v England

    Jenny Woods
    Netball commentator

Everything is connecting for England at the moment. All seven players are doing their job and doing their jobs so well.

You won't hear the buzzer, you won't hear the whistle but you will hear the noise from this crowd, who have taken England to a famous victory.

The crowd follow orners and Jo Harten dances her way across the court back to her team-mates.

    That's that.

What a performance from England. What a performance from the crowd!

It's a dominant final quarter from the defending champions to win pool B and set up a huge semi-final against 2018 runners-up Australia on Saturday.

England have won this now. But they don't want to just win.

They look like they want to score every single goal they can before the group game ends.

England take controlpublished at 22:20 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    New Zealand 42-51 England

    Becky Grey
BBC Sport at the NEC Arena

England coach Jess Thirlby looks cool as a cucumber courtside.

Oh wiat, no she doesn't. Laura Malcolm makes an EXCELLENT interception in mid-court and a long ball reaches Eleanor Cardwell for what is surely the score of the match.

That gets Thirlby out of her seat and thumping her fists in the air.

Energy in the NEC is high with a couple of minutes left.

  14. 'A great championships for Pozzi'published at 22:18 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    110m hurdles

    Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill
London 2012 Olympic heptathlon champion on BBC TV

It was great to see Andy Pozzi come here and perform in front of a home crowd, and for his girlfriend Katarina Johnson-Thompson winning a gold medal as well. It has just been a great championships for him.

  15. 'You can see what that medal means to Okoye'published at 22:18 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    Men's discus

    Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill
London 2012 Olympic heptathlon champion on BBC TV

You can see how much that silver medal meant to Lawrence Okoye. It has been 10 years of back and forth [going from athletics to American football and back] not knowing where his sport lies. Tp win that medal is fantastic for him.

    New Zealand 39-45 England

    Becky Grey
BBC Sport at the NEC Arena

If this is what the NEC Arena sounds like for a group game, I can't imagine what it's going to be like for a semi-final.

The crowd chant England as loud as they can and stamp their feet to celebrate every goal. It sounds like a jumbo jet is passing overhead.

England are six goals up with six minutes left.

Eleanor Cardwell comes back on at goal shooter for England and the crowd absolutely loves it.

The hosts are still up by five with just under eight minutes remaining. It's going to be a tight finish.

  18. bronze medal

Bronze medal - Englandpublished at 22:12 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    Rhythmic gymnastics team final

All over in the second stage of the team final - and England can finally celebrate!

    Bronze for the hosts!!

It's been a long and agonising wait for Marfa Ekimova, Alice Leaper and Saffron Severn - all teenagers - after they competed earlier and had to watch the rest go tonight.

And we'll tell you what has been an even longer and more agonising wait... England winning a medal in this event.

It's their first since 2010! And one which was probably not expected by many going into the Games.

Canada win gold and Australia take silver.

It's not an ideal start to the final quarter for England at the netball.

Their six-point lead is down to three points with 12 minutes remaining.

  20. gold-medal

Gold medal - India - Sudhir Sudhirpublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    Powerlifting: Men's powerlifting final

Insert the old, so good they named him twice line.

A little bit of an anti-climax to the men's heavyweight final, however, as both Sudhir (217kg) and silver medallist Ikechukwu Obichukwu (203kg) of Nigeria are unsuccessful with their final lifts.

Sudhir becomes Commonwealth champion with a points tally of 134.5, Obichukwu was only slightly behind on 133.6 and Scotland's Micky Yule takes home a bronze medal with a haul of 130.9 points.
