If Katarina Johnson-Thompson can get on the podium I think it will be a real sweetener for her. We have to stop comparing her to the 2018-19 Kat because she is in a completely different place.

If she can put together a decent two days, it is about if she can win because she is head and shoulders above everyone else.

Her hurdles was just steady but what you want from the hurdles is a clean race and she got through safely and did enough.

Her high jump was a great clearance from her considering where she has been for the last couple of months.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson cannot improve on her opening 12.94 with her third attempt but that season best distance scores her 723 points.

Australia's Emma McKeon is going for all sorts of records in the next race.

She's already got the record for most golds with 12. She'll join Chad le Clos as the most-decorated Commonwealth swimmer of all time if she can claim an 18th medal here. Although Le Clos could extend his record again in the next race...

The record number of swimming medals at one Commonwealth Games is seven. McKeon is already on five and including this has three events left in Birmingham.

Will Anna Hopkin and Freya Andderson be inspired by that gold in the pool for England? This is going to be a big ask though with the three Aussies in the middle of the pool looking formidable.

Oh that is really frustrating for Sophie Cook because the height was there, failing at the third attempt at 4.35m.

She cleared the previous height on the third attempt and I think she had the height there.

England's Sophie Cook is unable to clear 4.35m at her third attempt so she is out of contention in this final.

Here comes Northern Ireland's Ellie McCartney but she too cannot clear the height after three attempts and is also out.

England's Molly Caudery is now the only Brit left in this final. She cleared 4.35m at her first attempt.

    BBC Sport

Holly Bradshaw was talking to BBC Sport, after having to pull out of the women's pole vault final shortly before it started:

"I had a scan after my incident in the worlds and I had a partial tear of my hamstring and tendon. I vaulted in Saturday very tentatively and I thought I would be ok but in my warm up I felt something pop.

"This was going to be my last Commonwealth Games, and a chance of a medal but it wasn't meant to be. I'm glad I gave it a go and wasn't sat at home."

Will she be ready for the upcoming European Championships?

"I think the five year cycle to Tokyo took its toll and I threw everything at it to get that medal, and I did.

"I'm probably done for the rest of the season. I want to go to the Worlds and Olympics and win a medal, and I am not going to risk it any more than this."

I don't know whether it's because there is a bit less pressure on the athletes to perform than in the Olympics but it's a super friendly atmosphere between all the competitors as they hug and pose for photos after each race. A great spirit for sure.

Stand by for some mega noise now as Brodie Williams comes out to receive his gold!

"The crowd was incredible, I could hear them all the way so that was a really big boost to me, I am super happy to come away with the silver medal. I have had so many ups and downs and it feels like more downs than ups but to come away with an individual medal - I am over the moon."
