Pakistan's Bismah Maroof is keeping things ticking over for her team, but losing Omaima Sohail alongside her was a big blow.

The run-rate remains very steady and leaves the underdogs needing 99 runs from 42 balls.

    A steep climb.

    Style notes!

Team England's kit is something of a 90s school sports day throw-back with low-key branding and a longer cut. Like it.

Watch out for Nigeria's 17-year-old Ella Onojuvwevwo as well. Although the 17-year-old has missed out on the 400m semi-finals, she surely has the longest ponytail in track and field.

I reckon if she shakes her head fast it could double as a bullwhip.

Pakistan starting to settle downpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 3 August 2022

Australia 160-2 (20 overs), Pakistan 32-2 (seven overs)

Pakistan have steadied the ship after losing those two early wickets.

Can Omaima Sohail and Bismah Maroof replicate Australia's third-wicket partnership between Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath?

The Aussie pair rescued their side after a sticky start and Omaima (18) and Bismah (10) are trying to do the same for Pakistan.

Bronze medal - Namibia - Alexander Millerpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 3 August 2022

    Mountain bike - men's cross-country

For so long the bronze medal fight appeared to be between Northern Ireland's Cameron Orr and England's Joe Blackmore.

But it's Namibia's Alexander Miller who comes through to finish strongest and take the medal!

Orr and Blackmore are still stuck together as they cross the line, but there'll be no home nation medal in the end.

Fair play to Scotland's Charlie Aldridge.

New Zealand's Sam Gaze is closing in on the gold medal!

    Katharine Merry
    BBC commentator and presenter

Muzala Samukonga was moving like a man possessed in the home straight.

I'm not sure if he's injured now, or if he's just suffering from a huge amount of lactic acid.

Usually you keep you powder dry for the semi-final and final but he took that opportunity to break his personal best and went for it.

Is it just extravagance he'll pay for?

    Men's cross-country final

One lap to go in the mountain bike men's cross-country race!

It will be a victory lap for New Zealand's Sam Gaze, who just needs to navigate the course safely again to secure Commonwealth Games gold.

Compatriot Ben Oliver is 42 seconds behind, with Northern Ireland's Cameron Orr and England's Joe Blackmore still locked together.

But they have slowed up - and it has allowed Namibia's Alexander Miller to come into contention in the race for bronze!

    Women's light-flyweight quarter-final

    Michael Morrow
BBC Sport NI at The NEC

Northern Ireland are guaranteed their first boxing medal in Birmingham as light-flyweight Carly McNaul advances to the semi-finals with a beautifully measured and composed win over Sri Lanka's Keshani Hansika.

So it's at least bronze for the 33-year-old from east Belfast, but she will of course have her sights set on gold having won silver four years ago.

McNaul has a fantastic story, since the last games she has suffered a broken femur and had surgery on torn hand tendons and a scar on her eye.

She made it here though, and will be going home with a medal.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be for her young team-mate Nicole Clyde, who was well beaten by India's Nitu Nitu.

Nightmare start for Pakistanpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 3 August 2022

Australia 160-2 (20 overs), Pakistan 8-2 (two overs)

It always seemed unlikely that Pakistan would be able to reach Australia's total - and their task has been made even harder after a nightmare start.

Muneeba Ali Siddiqui was caught behind for a duck, leaving Pakistan 0-1 after three balls of their innings.

And it goes from bad to worse when Iram Javed lobs one up into the hands of Grace Harris at mid-on.

It's such a shame for the former junior world champ, he looked to have made a good move to clinch a medal!

Orr leads Blackmore in race for bronzepublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 3 August 2022

    Men's cross-country final

Remarkably, it's Northern Ireland's Cameron Orr, having previously looked like he was close to losing touch in the battle for bronze, who is now pushing the pace in an attempt to break England's Joseph Blackmore and clinch a podium place.

At the front, Sam Gaze now has a 25-second lead over fellow New Zealander Ben Oliver with two laps remaining.
