Rebecca Storrie of the Isle of the Man is the fastest of the finishers so far in the women's time trial, completing the 28.8km circuit in 41 minutes 53.49 seconds.

England's Anna Henderson has the best time of those who have gone past 23.2km, while Georgia Brown of New Zealand was the quickest of everyone at 8.9km.

Elaine Thompson-Herah strolls across the finish line. That looked effortless.

The Jamaican clocks 22.80 seconds to take the win, as Scotland's Beth Dobbin also seals an automatic qualification place.

Dobbin comes second in 23.10, ahead of Australian Jacinta Beecher (23.13).

Fresh from taking 100m gold last night, Jamaica's Elaine Thompson-Herah is back for more.

The five-time Olympic champion lines up in heat five of the women's 200m qualifying, where she is joined by Scotland's Beth Dobbin.

Nigerian's talented 19-year-old Favour Ofili is a comfortable qualifier from heat four as she wins in 22.71 seconds, followed by African 100m champion Gina Bass (22.87) and Malawi's Asimenye Simwaka (23.28).

Everyone has now got past the first checkpoint at 8.9km in the women's time trial and Australia's Grace Brown, the last to start, is the fastest on the streets so far and she is four and half seconds clear of England's Anna Henderson, with New Zealand's Georgia Williams third.

Canada's Camryn Rogers, with her opening Games-record throw, and Australian Julia Ratcliffe, are the only two athletes who have managed to secure the automatic qualification distance of 68.00m in the women's hammer.

Behind them are England's Anna Purchase (66.45m) and Wales' Amber Simpson (65.67m), who are looking very good in the fight for those top-12 places.

Jamaica's Natalliah Whyte, eighth in the 100m final last night, cruises to the line to win heat three in 23.61 seconds.

And Hannah Brier (24.04) and Abi Galpin (24.47) also book their places in Friday's semi-finals!

The first riders have got past the second checkpoint at 19.2km and Rebecca Storie of the Isle of Man is the leader at that point, although England's Anna Henderson is now the fastest of those to have gone through the first mark at 8.9km.

India's Hima Das wins the second of the women's 200m heats in 23.42 seconds from Zamibia's Rhoda Njobvu (23.85) and Jacent Nyamahunge (24.07).

Next up, Wales' Hannah Brier and Guernsey's Abi Galpin go in heat three.

It's another brilliant turnout for the morning session at the Alexander Stadium.

The crowd are getting excited by the hammer competition, which has just witnessed a new Games record throw of 74.68m from Canada's Camryn Rogers.

The cheers from the fans holds up the second 200m heat.

We have a change of leader now in the women's time trial with Rebecca Storrie of the Isle of Man going through the first checkpoint at 8.9km 20 seconds quicker than Anna Morris of Wales.

We have had five withdrawals today, so have 31 riders and 13 of them have already got past the first checkpoint, with just Australia's Grace Brown still to set off.

Namibia's Christine Mboma, the Olympic runner-up, takes the opening women's 200m heat in 23.20 seconds and is joined by Australia's Ella Connolly (23.56) and Kenya's Milicent Ndoro (24.03) in the top-three automatic qualification places.

Last night we saw the 100m competitions come to an end - and now it's over to the 200m for the sprinters.

Wales' Hannah Brier, Guernsey's Abi Galpin and Scotland's Beth Dobbin will all contest the heats this morning, but there are no English athletes after 100m bronze medallist Darryl Neita withdrew.

So, who else should you be keeping an eye out for?

Olympic silver medallist Christine Mboma of Namibia goes in heat one, but she only returned to training five weeks ago after tearing her left thigh muscle.

In heat three is Jamaica's Natalliah Whyte, who came eighth in the 100m final last night, and she is joined by Brier and Galpin there.

Gambia’s African 100m champion Gina Bass is up in heat four, while double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is due to compete alongside Dobbin of Scotland in heat five.

Julien Alfred, 100m silver medallist last night, is in the sixth and final heat.

A match worthy of the final, but maybe just a preview to it?

The Sunshine Girls of Jamaica beat top seeds and three-time champions Australia and it was hugely deserved.

Five goals down after the third quarter but a HUGE final 15 minutes gave Jamaica the victory, they won the final quarter 17-9. They were tenacious, they were determined and they have just topped Pool A and staked their claim as potential gold medallists in this competition.

If England beat New Zealand later on they will face Australia in the semi-final on Saturday.

She opens with 66.45m - with the automatic qualifying mark set at 68.00m - and tops the standings halfway through the opening round of qualifying attempts.

Wales' Amber Simpson sits third after her throw of 64.56m.

The first riders have got past the first checkpoint at 8.9km in the women's time trial and Wales' Anna Morris is an early leader, but there's still 14 riders yet to start the 29km circuit.

Grenada's Lindon Victor makes a flying start in the decathlon, clocking 10.76 seconds to top the standings with 915 points after the first decathlon event.

Harry Kendall crosses the line in eighth in 11.25.

England's Harry Kendall is having a bit of a nightmare with keeping his number pinned to his vest on the start line of the 100m.

Not ideal before the start of his decathlon campaign, but he's all sorted and ready for action now, thankfully.

False start! Kendrick Thompson of the Bahamas is too keen. The delays go on...

It's nice and sunny for the women's time trial, which starts and finishes in Wolverhampton, with the men's event happening later on.
