England shooter Eleanor Cardwell has been one of the emerging netball stars of these Games, but the more experienced Jo Harten will start today.

Harten has been playing with strapping on her knee, but head coach Jess Thirlby is obviously confident in her fitness.

Cardwell will offer a big impact off the bench when needed - think Ella Toone and Alessia Russo if football's more your vibe.

England: Harten, Housby, Metcalf (capt), Clarke, Francis-Bayman, Guscoth, Mentor.

Australia: Bueta, Wood, Watson (capt), Moloney, Brazill, Weston, Bruce.

    India win by four runs

Heartbreak for England. Sophie Eccleston finishes the hosts' chase with a six down the ground but it's not enough. After reaching the knockouts with an unbeaten record, England have fallen in the semi-finals.

They'll have to settle for the bronze medal match against either Australia or New Zealand with India advancing to the finals.

    Men's fours final

The finish line is in sight for Northern Ireland, they are closing in on their second gold medal of the Games.

The men's fours lead India 14-5 in the final with just three ends left. India proved yesterday they should never been counted out, but it would require a huge turnaround here if they were to beat NI to the top of the podium.

It seems England's netball semi-final is one of the hottest tickets in Birmingham today.

Fans are outside with homemade signs asking for any spare tickets, but thankfully these guys had theirs a year in advance.

They're from Malvern Springs netball club and are expecting a tough challenge for the defending champions today against the 2018 runners-up.

Loved their t-shirts, which say 'Roses reserves' and 'here if you need' on the back.

India's slow overrate means they've been penalised and need an extra fielder in the inner-ring. Hope.

England ready to take on Australia in netball semi-finalpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

It's been 1474 days since this epic moment happened - it has become an iconic image - blue tongues from drinking energy drinks, full squad pile-on, total elation.

Since that thrilling match - which couldn't have been tighter, finishing 52-51 to England thanks to a final second buzzer-winner from Helen Housby - England took the bronze at the 2019 World Cup behind New Zealand and Australia and lost out on the Quad Series to the Diamonds...twice.

But at this Commonwealth Games the netball tables have turned on their head.

Jamaica beat Australia to top Group A and this morning went on to defeat New Zealand in the semi-final. Unheard of.

Can England replicate that joy of 2018 by overcoming their nemesis once again, to set up a final which would include neither Australia or New Zealand for the first time EVER?

    Let's do this.
