She was in it, out of it, and then back in it to stun Keely Hodgkinson on the home stretch. My word.

    Women’s featherweight semi-finals

Confirmed! Northern Ireland's Michaela Walsh has her arm raised as we expected.

Confident performance as she dominated South Africa's Phiowokuhle Mnguni from the first bell.

Walsh will fight for gold tomorrow. And that's just like her brother Aiden, who won in the men's light-middleweight semi-finals earlier.

Could be a heck of a party in the Walsh household when they get back home. And the whole of Belfast will be invited if it's a golden celebration.

And it's medal number 40 for Scotland at Birmingham 2022!

They sit alongside Australia's Melissa Wu and Charli Petrov with a score of 49.80.

There is a fixed degree of difficulty of 2.0 in the first two rounds which explains the relatively modest scores. The fireworks will come later.

    Women's 800m final

There's a fascinating final in store as England's Keely Hodgkinson and Scotland's Laura Muir go head-to-head.

Hodgkinson has claimed world and Olympic silver in the discipline and is bidding to become the first Englishwoman to win gold in the event since 1990.

Muir is doubling up in Birmingham, having qualified for the 1500m final yesterday, as she bids to win a first Commonwealth meadal.

This is the first time she has competed in an outdoor 800m at a major championship since 2013.

Laura Muir's big night is Sunday, when the 1500m final is run, but that's not to say the Scot wouldn't welcome a ribbon around her neck before then.

Three of the field in this final have run quicker than her this season, not least England's Keely Hodgkinson. But can Muir - in her 18th major international final - edge Scotland closer to breaking their record medals haul for a foreign Games?

It stands at 44 in Gold Coast. The Scots currently have 39, with three more secured...

The first men’s hockey finalist has been decided.

India go through after beating South Africa 3-2 - they will face the winner of Australia v England, which starts at 20:15 BST.

The ending to that first semi-final was a tad dramatic. South Africa took their keeper off as they sought a late equaliser, but then conceded a penalty corner and had to do it keeperless.

Obviously, India went 3-1 up but South Africa scored again with a minute remaining. The South Africans scrapped in what time was left, but it wasn't enough.
