The second session of today's diving is about to get under way and we've got two finals coming up.

The Sandwell Aquatics Centre is filling up nicely - lots of England flags, a smattering of Saltires and I've spotted a Canadian flag too.

A light show kicks us off to build the atmosphere. The crowd are clapping completely out of sync with the music.

The tape measure is out for the Malaysian trio as there is slight confusion as end 12 finishes in this fight for the women's triple gold medal.

The score operators are happy. England are trailing 9-8. Tense match this one.

The hockey stand at the university is slowly filling up, with England's semi-final against New Zealand starting at 18:00 BST.

Yesterday, England's netballers beat New Zealand in the loudest atmosphere I've heard all Games to set themselves up a semi-final against Australia.

Time to see if this crowd can live up to that, with England's hockey players also facing a possible Australia final if the Hockeyroos beat India in today's second semi-final.

Coming up at 18:00 BST we're set for a thriller in the hockey.

England have never made a Commonwealth Games final but, for the first time in the Games, they have won every pool game.

New Zealand are the defending champions but were beaten 1-0 by Australia on Tuesday. In the 2018 semi-final New Zealand beat England 2-1 in a shoot-out.

Here is what you still have to look forward to on Friday:

• Diving: Scotland's Grace Reid and Australia's Georgia Sheehan will renew their battle in the women's 1m springboard at 18:05 BST, while the men's 10m synchro features England's Olympic champion Matty Lee and partner Noah Williams at 19:23.
• Athletics: The decathlon reaches a climax with the 1500m just after 21:30, with Grenada's defending champion Lindon Victor looking to catch Australian Cedric Dubler in the javelin before then. The Women's triple jump and 3,000m steeplechase, and the men's shot put and T53/54 100m, will also be decided.
• Wrestling: There are six gold medals to be won in the first of two frenzied days of wrestling action. It's more than half a century since anyone other than India or Canada topped wrestling's medal table at a Commonwealth Games, and you can expect more of the same in Birmingham.
• Hockey: The women's competition reaches the semi-final stage at 18:00 with England taking on New Zealand before Australia face India.

There are absolute scenes at Smithfield as England duo Javier and Joaquin Bello beat Gambia to make the semi-finals of the beach volleyball.

The crowd are on their feet and waving St George’s flags as the identical twins take a high quality match 2-1.

Hand on the knee delivery from Nur Ain Nabilah Tarmizi to the delight of small Malaysian contingent watching on from the stands.

Syafiqa Haidra Afif Abdul Rahman's effort is carrying too much weight to make any inroads in end 12 but Malaysia still have a chance if they can find the right line.

Who's up for some more diving action then?

We might not have any TV Maitre Ds in the house but we do have ourselves two cracking finals. First up is the women's 1m springboard, a battle won by Scotland's Grace Reid four years ago, though Canadian world bronze medallist Mia Vallee is a new name in the frame.

Then it's the men's 10m synchro. England's Matty Lee and Noah Williams won world silver last month - but Canada are likely be breathing down their necks and Australia could feature, too.

They've done it! An insane rally ends with an England winner and the Bello twins are through to the semi-finals.

Joaquin and Javier Bello celebrate like crazy. They beat Gambian pair Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra 21-16, 20-22, 15-12.

14-12. England have two match points.

The sun is still shinning in Leamington Spa and at the conclusion of end 11, chants of 'England! England!' ring out as Jamie-Lea Winch, Natalie Chestney and Sian Honnor draw this gold-medal match back level to 8-8.

Who is going to blink first in this final?

Another side switch. England lead 13-12 with the Gambia on serve.

Next up twin Javier fires in an ace to put England 9-7 up in the decider. A two-point margin is huge considering how close this deciding set has been.

Azlina Arshad was looking for an opening with her red bowl but the Malaysian player knows that was a tricky shot to pull off and after ten ends, England gain ground back and the score is now 8-7 in favour of Malaysia.

Team meeting for the host nation. Will gold be added to this trio's humongous Commonwealth Games medal collection?

The Bolton brawler has done it!

George Ramm claims a wrestling bronze after defeating Lowe Bingham of Nauru.

There's huge support for Ramm inside the Coventry Stadium and Arena complex and now AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' is being blasted out as Ramm waves at his fans.

England have a bit of daylight against India, scoring heavily after a shaky start to go 8-3 up after seven ends.

There is nothing between Wales and Northern Ireland, however, with the score 4-4 after five ends.

Remember, each match will be decided after 15 ends, unless there is a tie, when extra ends will be played until we have a winner.
