Lynne Beattie appeared on Deal or No Deal in 2014 and apparently won a tidy sum of money.

The Australian pair switch tactics and go for height in order to claw back points but Beattie and Melissa Coutts still hold a point advantage over the Tokyo silver medallists.

Perfectly placed attack by Lynne Beattie and Australia's Mariafe Artacho del Solar had no reply in defence.

    Katharine Merry
    BBC commentator and presenter

Australia's Cedric Dubler has picked up very good points and will finish the pole vault in the lead after that five metre clearance.

It's swings and roundabouts with the final two events [javelin and 1500m] to come.

But a massively important event there for the Australian. I am still not sure where this gold medal is going to go - and that's why we enjoy it.

It means heading into the penultimate event, the javelin, the Australian holds a 39-point lead over Grenada's defending champion Lindon Victor.

Fellow Aussie Daniel Golubovic is third, 100 points behind Dubler, and he has an advantage of 150 points to compatriot Alec Diamond in the fight for the medals.

England's Harry Kendall remains sixth after his pole vault PB.

The decathletes now have around five hours to recover from their three events so far today before returning tonight. It should be some finale!

The DJ is whipping the crowd up and there’s plenty of support for both teams.

Australia have won the toss and will decide which end they want to play once they’ve assessed the conditions on the court as it’s a bit blustery.

Scotland have never made it past the quarter-final in the beach volleyball and it would be a major upset were they to win today.

Lynne Beattie and Melissa Coutts qualified as one of the best third placed teams but they face a monumental challenge against the Australia duo.

Taliqua Clancy & Mariafe Artacho del Solar won silver medals at both the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Olympics in Tokyo last year.

The Scots have been warming up just behind the main arena and the temperature is pleasantly warm but a bit cloudy.
