It is looking more and more that this could come down to a sprint. If that happens I am not sure who would fair best. Perhaps New Zealand's Aaron Gate, who is a great track sprinter.

I think the fatigue after three hours of racing is beginning to set in. They are not able to sustain attacks with tired legs now.

But now here is a strong attack from Fred Wright. Geraint Thomas is trying to drag this back but he is having to expend all his energy in defensive moves.

The Welshman needs to start turning these defensive moves into offensive ones.

England have three riders and are using them really well, spreading their attacks between them, while Thomas is doing it all on his own.

Right, into the final 20km. England's Fred Wright decides it's time to make a move - and once again it's Geraint Thomas who is forced to act to shut it down. Will Thomas have enough left in the tank to produce a final push after all this chasing?

Australia win a short corner, their first of the match. A little under two minutes remain until half-time.

Worth pointing out that a 2-0 lead is far from safe in a hockey match. Yesterday, Australia men came from 2-0 down to beat England 3-2 in their semi-final.
