Lando Norris is asking his engineer whether they are confident this predicted period of rain will last only one lap. The reply from McLaren is they just don't know.
The wreckage of Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin is still waiting for some assistance. The fans in the grandstand got a good view of the crash, with the Spaniard touching the kerb and a bit of gravel through Turns Five and Six and then sliding into the barriers.

Everybody now I suspect is going to go on to slick tyres because it's just drying out now, we are not expecting any more torrential rain but with the dry line coming you can't afford to put another set of wet tyres on.

McLaren have gone hard for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, but Red Bull have opted for a set of medium tyres for world champion Max Verstappen. Alex Albon has also been fitted with the yellow-banded mediums by Williams.
The safety car is out and the "box, box" messages are flying in. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have come in, with the Australian dropping back slightly in order for the team to do a successful double stack.

It's very sensible from a team perspective but if you are Oscar Piastri this is your opportunity when he's got more pace than his team-mate Lando Norris.
At other points in the race when they've got new tyres on or it's different conditions, it might be Norris who ends up finding form.
"Time to go racing," McLaren CEO Zak Brown tells Sky Sports on the pit wall. Oscar Piastri has a slight moment and falls out of DRS range of team-mate Lando Norris. Ferrari, meanwhile, are discussing the switch to slicks with their drivers.

Max Verstappen needs something to happen here if he wants to have an impact on this race, either he needs a torrential downpour of rain, or he needs a safety car. He needs something to change things up.
Max Verstappen is not a threat to the two McLarens at the moment, but the last thing the team need is chaos at the front and the Dutchman benefiting. Oscar Piastri is staying in that second place, but he is hunting down leader Lando Norris.
Oscar Piastri is told by McLaren to "transition to the dry and clear the backmarkers", which the Australian driver has already done. Is he going to make a move on his team-mate Lando Norris soon?
