  1. DROPPED CATCHpublished at 04:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Danielle Wyatt is England's new batter, making her 50th Twenty20 international appearance today but moved down the order from opener to number seven. Three singles are added by Wyatt and Sciver - then Bolton's mixed day in the field continues as she shells a catch at long-on, pushing the ball over the bar (as a goalkeeper would) with both hands and allowing it to trickle onto the rope. Bolton's score today: two catches, two absolute rickets.

"Australia have really impressed in the field. I thought she had spilled it, but it's a great catch."

  3. WICKETpublished at 04:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Brindle comes down the track to Osborne, on-drives and is brilliantly caught one-handed by Meg Lanning diving to her left at mid-wicket!

  4. Eng 63-4published at 04:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Can Schutt make another breakthrough for Australia? Not this time, Sciver and Brindle help themselves to ones and twos, while Brindle lifts one into the air over short fine leg trying to leg-glance, but it falls safely.

"The back condition really does get me down now. I want to go away and sort it out."

  6. APPEAL - NOT OUTpublished at 04:15 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Off-spinner Erin Osborne replaces the expensive Perry, whose first two overs had gone for 15. Arran Brindle has joined Sciver at the crease, and Sciver takes the advantage, drilling the ball down to long-on where Nicole Bolton, who's taken two catches there, blots her copybook by letting a four straight through her. "Where's the long barrier? We do long barriers in Barnsley," asks Katherine Brunt, the latest in a proud tradition of Barnsley cricketers including Dickie Bird, Michael Parkinson and of course Sir Geoffrey. Big appeal for a catch behind against Sciver... umpire not interested.

"That's a prime example of the pace of the wicket. Sarah is either trying to chip that straight or work to mid-wicket, but she'll be disappointed to fall in that way."

  8. WICKETpublished at 04:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Jonassen takes a rest and right-arm seamer Megan Schutt, playing her first game of the series, is into the attack - but after more singles, a promising start by Taylor is ended as the Sussex wicketkeeper skies a catch to long-on. Big wicket.

"I become a completely different person when I step over that white line. Lottie [captain Charlotte Edwards] calls me the 'devil child'. Once I'm on the pitch I have to give 100% and nothing less."

  10. Eng 44-3 (Taylor 20*, Sciver 9*)published at 04:07 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

As Alison Mitchell welcomes injured England fast bowler Katherine Brunt to the TMS box, Perry continues to leak runs as Sciver and Taylor are taking singles at will, while Taylor unleashes a peach of a cover-driven four.

"I've been struggling with a back condition for a fair few years and it's come back to annoy me. I've missed all of the limited-overs games, but the plan is investigate with MRI scan back in England to see if I'm ready for the World T20."

  12. Eng 35-3published at 04:01 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

More accumulation from the two right-handers as Taylor and Sciver add a couple of singles before Taylor lifts a four over mid-on - there are some pretty long boundaries at Stadium Australia, which is also the home of the Sydney Thunder franchise in the Big Bash.

  13. Eng 27-3 (Taylor 8*, Sciver 5*)published at 03:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Right-arm pace bowler Ellyse Perry into the attack, and with the field restrictions over, square leg trots back to the boundary. Sciver helps a single to fine leg, and Taylor does likewise as Perry struggles with her line early on. And if anything, Perry's arrival has helped England as the fourth-wicket pair plunder six singles from the over.

  14. Eng 21-3published at 03:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen into the attack, she kept England becalmed for much of her spell in the last game. Four singles from it as Sciver gets off the mark, but a good powerplay for the Southern Stars.

  15. Eng 17-3published at 03:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

England are finally off 15, where they lost two wickets, as Taylor adds a single. Ferling strays with a legside wide, Scivers swings and misses at a bouncer from the tall teenager, who has 0-8 from three overs.

  16. Eng 15-3published at 03:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2014

Natalie Sciver defends the hat-trick ball, but England are reeling here.
