  1. Zim 106-4 (Target 332)published at 09:15 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

Williams continues his recent assault with reverse-sweep through backward point for four off the spin of McBrine. At this stage in their innings, Ireland were 87-2. Less runs, but crucially they had the extra wickets in the tent, allowing them to push on with more confidence later.

  2. Zim 100-4published at 09:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

Cheers Jamie. Fine spell sir. Take your cap and have a rest down at fine leg.

Right, where are we? Well, it is all going very nicely for Ireland. They have set Zimbabwe a total that requires a record World Cup run-chase to beat and have taken four wickets in the 20 overs of the response. Ireland are on course for a victory that will take them level with South Africa on six points, while Zimbabwe are facing elimination from the tournament.

Williams looks to change the script with a hit over mid-wicket for four to take his team to three figures.

  4. Zim 94-4 (238 required from 30 overs)published at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

Taylor pased 5,000 ODI runs early in his innings today, only the fourth Zimbabwean to achieve the feat, and a more profitable over sees him sweep McBrine for the first six of the innings. Can he mastermind a sensational victory? he may have to beat his current highest ODI score of 145. To see if he can we join Phil Dawkes.

  5. Zim 83-4 (Taylor 30, Williams 5)published at 09:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

A fourth over without a boundary. Dockrell keeping things in good order and the fielders maintaining the pressure on the batsman. Required rate above eight now.

  6. Zim 79-4 (required rate 7.90)published at 09:04 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

McBrine continues with his buoyant little approach to the crease. There's a slip in place. Just a handful of singles are scored and the rate is climbing ever higher.

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

"Well done George Dockrell. He got good bounce, bowled a good line and Mire just didn't use his feet. It looped to backward point and was a simple catch in the end."

  8. WICKETpublished at 08:56 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

But the breakthrough does not take much longer, a much more straightforward catch at backward point. Not the best delivery from Dockrell, a little short and wide, but it nets him a 56th ODI wicket, in his 46th match.

The Zimbabweans have only passed 330 three times, however, and they have been against minnows Bermuda, Namibia and Kenya. They're ahead of Ireland at the 15 over stage though, they were only on 56 at that point of their innings, but had only lost one wicket. Should have been a fourth wicket for the Irish, Mire lacing spinner McBrine to extra cover where Kevin O'Brien cannot hold on, the big all-rounder ruefully inspecting his fingers.

  10. Ireland v Zimbabwe latestpublished at 08:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

Back at the Bellerive Oval, Brendan Taylor is looking in sublime form, a glorious lofted straight drive off Kevin O'Brien takes him to 22 and Zimbabwe are 68-3 after 15 overs, but a long way from their target of 332.

NjirihMagu: The moral of the game between Pakistan v South Africa teaches us that write off Pakistan at your own peril. This is how they won it in 1992.

Ilyas Najib: I did the Brett Lee chainsaw celebration as the final South African wicket fell and my word did it feel good.

    Andrew Samson

"Sarfraz Ahmed is the first Pakistan keeper to take six dismissals in an ODI innings. He equals the record in all ODIs which has now happened 15 times."

So this leaves Pool B in a fascinating state. India are already through having won four out of four, but Pakistan are now behind South Africa on run-rate, both have six points from five matches, West Indies on four from five and Ireland on four from three.

  14. Man of the matchpublished at 08:42 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

    Jeremy Coney
Ex-New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special

"I didn't think it was possible for Pakistan to defend a total like that but they picked up wickets and from nine overs on they held sway. At no stage, other than De Villiers, did the South Africa batsmen look comfortable at all. They bowled with real purpose. Once again, South Africa didn't cope with the pressure."

  18. WICKETpublished at 08:34 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

But he cannot deal with the pace of the left-arm seamer, again upwards of 150km/h and plays a hesitant stroke which results in another catch for the keeper. So that's it, a superb contest comes to an end. Just as the rain begins to sweep across the ground too. Extraordinary scenes. Had he kept that ball out they might have come off!

Tahir has a best of 23 not out against Zimbabwe but has only reached double figures on one other occasion. His lack of footwork does not inspire confidence for South Africa supporters but he survives. Just.
