  1. Ire 190-6published at 06:28 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Stuart Thompson joins Kevin O'Brien at the crease, with both men yet to score. O'Brien can be explosive, as England fans will remember, and Ireland need him to be to make the most of these final ten overs.

"The reviews have worked twice for Ireland today, with Joyce and Wilson. But both times, each men have been out a few balls later. This is a costly one as Wilson was looking in good touch."

  3. WICKETpublished at 06:24 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Ah. Gary Wilson didn't make the most of that reprieve. He tries to upper-cut a Sohail bouncer but doesn't get enough of it, and Wahab reels it in on the long boundary at third man. Ireland's innings stutters again.

Gary Wilson has been given out lbw here, but he's asked for the review. Did he get an inside edge?

Yes, clear as day on the replay. The decision is overturned - not out.

"Adelaide was teaming with people last night on what was the penultimate day of the Fringe festival. Predictably, an Irish bar was a focal point for Ireland fans, dancing to the live band. Now, they're dancing to the Adelaide Oval DJ, with 'Blame It On The Boogie' going down well."

  7. Ire 188-5 (Wilson 29, K O'Brien 0)published at 06:21 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

This could be Shahid Afridi's last over in ODIs if Pakistan lose today. Gary Wilson spoils it by cutting powerfully for four, just getting it past Ehsan on the rope. Afridi's work is done, and what an excellent spell it's been - just 38 runs off his ten overs.

  8. Ire 183-5published at 06:17 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Kevin O'Brien is the new man. Can he play an explosive cameo here?

  9. WICKETpublished at 06:14 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

That's a big blow for Ireland, the skipper had played so well but he won't be around to cash in in the last ten. He tries to hit out after a tight over from Sohail, but he doesn't time the pull shot and Afridi takes an excellent catch sprawling at mid-on.

    Andrew Samson

"Porterfield's century is the fourth Ireland century in the six ODIs they have played against Pakistan. It is the most Ireland have scored against any team."

    Tim Nielsen
Former Australia coach on BBC Test Match Special

"Will Porterfield got a little bit of luck to reach 100, hitting the ball firmly back at the bowler and he couldn't hold it.

"But you need some luck on your way to a century. It has been an excellent innings and to get it at 99 was just reward for Porterfield.

"He has led from the front and now Ireland will be hoping to post a competitive total. I would like to see him keep his head and continue to bat."

  12. 100 for Porterfieldpublished at 06:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

He's done it! Huge achievement for Will Porterfield, but he could so easily have been back in the hutch - a push back at the bowler but Rahat can't gather it and they run two to bring up the milestone. Brilliant knock from the skipper. His seventh ODI hundred, and that's a decent way to celebrate it - next ball he steps away and creams Rahat through the covers, beats the sliding fielder to the the rope. Ireland picking it up just when they needed to.

  13. Ire 171-4published at 06:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Sohail Khan returns at the other end - a man who can certainly fill a lime green cricket shirt. Ireland are scrabbling for every run they can get: Gary Wilson almost perishes when he drops and runs and the muscly bowler's throw whizzes over the top of the stumps with the batsman short of his ground. Finally, huge relief for Ireland when Sohail drifts wide with his final ball and Wilson doesn't miss out, flaying him behind point for four. That turns a bad over into a decent one.

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

"Ireland will be looking at putting on 250 minimum, 270 if it goes really well. They're in a great position to ask a strong question of Pakistan. We know what teams are like under pressure - not many teams, maybe with the exception of India, cope well under the pressure of a chase."

  15. Batting powerplaypublished at 06:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Powerplay time. Ireland have set this innings up with late acceleration in mind, and now's the time to deliver with the fielding restrictions in force. The naggingly accurate Rahat is the man chosen to take the ball, and he continues to prove irritatingly unwhackable - just six from the over in ones and twos.

  16. Postpublished at 05:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Former Ireland spinner Kyle McCallan:, external We're on a knife edge here. Well set to put ourselves into a strong position and put Pakistan under pressure. Strong finish needed.

  18. Ire 156-4published at 05:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

More right-arm ephemeral from Afridi. Ireland can only manage two singles from the first five balls, and the pressure for runs almost tells when Porterfield gets halfway down the track backing up off the final ball, nearly creating a run-out opportunity. Powerplay coming up, have Ireland missed a trick here by not sending in Kevin O'Brien?

    Stephan Shemilt

"I'm out in the stands, sitting behind a father and his restless young son. 'I want to go home!' Replied with, 'We're here for ages yet'. I have no personal experience, but I'm sure it's a problem most dads have when taking the kids to the cricket."

  20. Ire 154-4 (Porterfield 93, Wilson 10)published at 05:52 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2015

Ireland needed that. Will Porterfield releases the pressure - and moves into the 90s - by dancing down the track to swat Haris just past the diving fielder at mid-off for four. Good over for Ireland, slaking their run-thirst with eight.
