"This is the fourth time in this World Cup that all 10 wickets have fallen to catches. In the previous 10 World Cups combined it had only happened twice before."

It's all over. Adil finally connects with one, clearing his front leg and hoicking Faulkner to long-on for a one-bounce four, but his next attempt to find the boundary is not so successful - he gets a loopy top edge and Starc takes it well running in from fine leg.

Watson continues, Michael Clarke clearly having decided that the best policy against these two batsmen is not to give them any pace to work with. It's working a treat as well - Rahat can only eke a single off the last delivery.

  6. Pkn 205-9 (Adil 9, Rahat 4)published at 06:58 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2015

Faulkner mixes it up to good effect - just two singles from his latest over. What can Pakistan defend here? They bowled South Africa out for 202, remember.

"What we seemed to have learned from this tournament is the importance of wickets in hand for the last 10-15 overs. The necessity for a blast at the front hasn't been proven, but you can blast at the back end if you've got seven or so wickets in hand, whoever's bowling, it seems.

"Along with the new bats, I think you can attribute that to the evolution of T20 cricket, as you can clear boundaries even if you only hit it reasonably well. It's created a paranoia amongst bowlers."

Shane Watson is back into the attack. Nine wickets too late, Pakistan have finally realised the importance of wickets in hand - no silly shots from these two, they're just looking to bat out the overs. Three singles from that one.

On Twitter:, external Pakistan might be enigmatic and exciting but their batting is predictable... awful under the pump.

"You'd expect Australia to win from here, and face India in Sydney - so I wouldn't expect many spare seats for that one."

James Faulkner returns. Can these two whack a few boundaries to end the innings strongly for Pakistan? Not yet, just four from the over.

  13. Pkn 196-9published at 06:47 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2015

Rahat Ali is the last man. He gets off the mark with an edge down to third man. Starc nearly finishes the job, locating Adil's outside edge, but the ball falls just short of Michael Clarke.

Jay: The Pakistani batsmen had a simple but sound strategy to avoid getting bowled & LBW'ed by Starc & co - get out caught.

"It's quite a good catch in the end, he went for a huge swish and got quite a lot of bat on it, except it went straight up in the air over the slip cordon. Watson and Clarke got out of the way, and Haddin had to lurch to his left to take the catch and avoid looking silly. Judging by nine and 10, I don't expect Rahat Ali to be one of the great batsmen of all time."

    "Yours, Hads!"

Sohail Khan sends one absolutely miles up in the air and none of the Australian fielders want this. Brad Haddin has the gloves and he takes charge, settling himself under the swirling ball and taking a really good catch. A fourth wicket for Josh Hazlewood, who suddenly looks an inspired selection, and Pakistan are in disarray.

"I think we have to say Starc deserved that wicket. Riaz took a little step, swung wildly and tried to hit it in the direction of the Don Bradman Pavilion. Straightforward catch, it's looking pretty bleak for Pakistan as Clarke has the bowlers left to see off the tail."

Finally Mitchell Starc has his man. Wahab goes for a big heave and ends up snicking it through to Brad Haddin. This Pakistan innings has been hobbled by pre-determined shots.

Starc moves on to 18 wickets for the tournament - he is the sole leading wicket taker.
