That's not a bad way to get off the mark, Buttler skips down the wicket to Permaul and pushes an effortless straight drive down the ground for six.
The deviation was off the pad and not the bat and the decision is overturned by third umpire Steve Davis, Buttler remains unbeaten and England still have four wickets left.

"My first impression was that the ball had come off the thigh pad."
Buttler has been given out caught behind by umpire Billy Bowden but has called for a review, with doubts as to whether he hit the ball from Jerome Taylor.
David Brighton: Welcome back to the England we know and tear our hair out over.
Mattie Bagnall: Buttler and Stokes at the crease. Helmets on...
Now what's Jos Buttler going to do today? He played a peculiar knock in the first innings when he was left with the tail and finished not out on just three from 25 balls. He keeps out Permaul, who is finding some turn and has a definite spring in his step now.

"It just pitched perfectly outside off stump, into the footmarks, and Ballance didn't know whether to stick or twist. He didn't know whether it was going to turn, or jump, or go straight on. But West Indies have wasted 13 runs this morning."
A change to the attack and he strikes second ball. The specialist spinner Permaul does not turn it but Ballance was uncertain in his lunge forward and it comes off the edge, low to slip.

"Ramdin is a good wicket-keeper batsman, but he's not a captain in my opinion."

"These are strange, mystifying tactics from West Indies. Why would they decide to use Jerome Taylor from the northern end when all his wickets were taken from the southern end yesterday?"
Ballance with an ungainly stroke that would not be seen in any coaching manual but it brings him four more, shovelling Samuels from way outside off-stump through mid-wicket. This is all too easy for England, the tension seems to have gone, West Indies have to change things. Bring big Curtly on.

"Stokes has got talent but there's still something that needs polishing. There's something to work with, definitely. He could get better and better but he needs someone to work with him to tell him things."
A confident flick off his pads brings Stokes four off Taylor and the England 50 is finally up in the 26th over. Taylor has beaten the bat once but there have been few other alarms for the tourists so far, it looks a different game this morning, and a full toss is put away by Stokes for another boundary.
Adam & Sarah (In the stands): West Indies all the way. They deserve a result and a drawn series. England are in freefall, we all know this so when our summer series comes the West Indies tour will be a relative success!
The umpires call for a review to assess a speculative stumping appeal but Stokes has his foot easily back and grounded. Samuels is posing no threat here and surely it cannot be long before another option is used.
Small Man Peaky: Too tight to call. Both teams are a shambles. Entertaining for neutrals. Enjoyable if you're a Kiwi or Aussie.
Timothy Revell: Sure this game has been exciting, but what am I going to do on Tuesday!?!?
Ballance is beaten outside the off-stump by Taylor but he picks up an important boundary next ball with a controlled thick edge behind square. Perhaps England have the ideal man for the situation here.
Jay: After all this drama, the result shouldn't be anything other than a tie.
It's Marlon Samuels with his seemingly innocuous off-breaks, and there was nothing there to alarm the batsmen, who both collect singles.

"Last night England would have been out in another 45 minutes. It's like that when there's momentum - wickets fall like a pack of cards and it can be a nightmare when that happens.
"You have to assess it this morning but if you think you are going to get out because of the pitch then, especially of you are a tail-ender, you have to play a few shots. Not reckless but calculated."
