"News is though that Reece Topley does not need an operation on his hand injury but will miss the next six to eight weeks.
"Meanwhile Warwickshire failed to take a wicket in the last half an hour of the afternoon session as Liam Dawson (12*) and Sean Ervine (15*) attempt to diffuse a situation which saw Hants lose three wickets in half an hour.
"Odds on a draw, but another wicket or two in the first hour of the last session and with Topley presumably not batting, anything can still happen."

Back to our question from earlier - here's a name which might not be familiar with some of our younger audience, but I've been told by one of my esteemed colleagues that Northants' Colin Milburn was indeed a fine batsman.
He played nine Tests for England, but his international career was cut short in 1969 when he lost his left eye in a car accident.

"Tom Alsop (24) pushed Boyd Rankin to Sam Hain at short leg. Will Smith was lbw to Jeetan Patel, although whether was he playing a shot or not was difficult to tell, and then James Vince (21) fell lbw to Rikki Clarke.
"Even with no Chris Woakes, who has a sore hamstring, the Bears are plugging away on this slow surface.
"Hampshire are under pressure and desperately need a partnership otherwise we could be here for a long time."
