With just two games in progress, you may be wondering what happened in the other four?

At New Road between Worcestershire and Kent, not a lot. The game was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Essex beat Gloucestershire by 10 wickets in Division Two, while Durham and Somerset and Northants and Sussex had to settle for draws after day four washouts.

We're back under way in both our games for the final session of the opening round of the 2016 County Championship season.

    How are the odds looking?

Notts v Surrey - Notts favourites

    Hampshire v Warwickshire - draw odds-on

But this is cricket and anything can happen.

  6. 'Topley out for up to eight weeks'published at 15:59 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Hampshire bowler breaks hand

    BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James:

"News is though that Reece Topley does not need an operation on his hand injury but will miss the next six to eight weeks.

"Meanwhile Warwickshire failed to take a wicket in the last half an hour of the afternoon session as Liam Dawson (12*) and Sean Ervine (15*) attempt to diffuse a situation which saw Hants lose three wickets in half an hour.

"Odds on a draw, but another wicket or two in the first hour of the last session and with Topley presumably not batting, anything can still happen."

  7. Tea at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Hampshire 202 & 103-4 v Warwickshire 360

It's also been a better half an hour before tea for Hampshire with Liam Dawson and Sean Ervine steadying things.

    They trail Warwickshire by 55.

More concerning perhaps is a bit of breaking news we have for you....

  8. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Nottinghamshire 446 & 116-5 v Surrey 225 & 389

Notts opener Greg Smith (44 not out) and captain Chris Read have done well to see out the final 30 minutes before tea after that flurry of wickets.

The hosts need 53 to win at Trent Bridge. Surrey require five wickets.

What's the best County Championship innings you've seen?

Back to our question from earlier - here's a name which might not be familiar with some of our younger audience, but I've been told by one of my esteemed colleagues that Northants' Colin Milburn was indeed a fine batsman.

He played nine Tests for England, but his international career was cut short in 1969 when he lost his left eye in a car accident.

I love a good sky/cricket ground picture! Here's a fairly ominous looking one from the Ageas Bowl - maybe the rain will save Hampshire?

Phew, things are a bit calmer now after all those wickets.

Notts are 108-5 chasing 169 versus Surrey, and Hampshire 85-4 against Warwickshire - still 73 in arrears.

  12. 'Warwickshire tails are up'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Hampshire 202 & 80-4 v Warwickshire 360

BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James at the Ageas Bowl:

"Three wickets in the space of half an hour has got the Warwickshire tails up.

"Tom Alsop (24) pushed Boyd Rankin to Sam Hain at short leg. Will Smith was lbw to Jeetan Patel, although whether was he playing a shot or not was difficult to tell, and then James Vince (21) fell lbw to Rikki Clarke.

"Even with no Chris Woakes, who has a sore hamstring, the Bears are plugging away on this slow surface.

"Hampshire are under pressure and desperately need a partnership otherwise we could be here for a long time."

The game is certainly in the balance at Trent Bridge. Amongst all the madness, Notts opener Greg Smith has remained calm on 42 not out.

  15. wicket

WICKET Vince (lbw b Clarke 21)published at 15:13 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Hampshire 202 & 76-4 v Warwickshire 360

I'm struggling to keep up with all these wickets!

Hampshire captain James Vince is out at the Ageas Bowl, leg-before, to Warwickshire all-rounder Rikki Clarke.

    Hants still trail by 82.

  16. Another wicket at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Nottinghamshire 446 & 100-5 v Surrey 225 & 389

I don't think anyone was expecting this when Notts were 72-0 about half an hour ago.

Samit Patel is the latest man to go, caught by Kumar Sangakkara off Ravi Rampaul and Surrey have their fifth wicket in quick succession.

Are Surrey now favourites? How has this happened?

It's been some 10 minutes for the bowlers at Trent Bridge and the Ageas Bowl.

Warwickshire spinner Jeetan Patel removes Will Smith, lbw, to leave Hampshire 66-3 on the south coast.

In Nottingham, Surrey paceman Tom Curran takes his second wicket in the over as Brendon Taylor is caught by Jason Roy for nought - Nottinghamshire are 85-3 and need 84 more runs for victory.

  20. Wicket at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Nottinghamshire 446 & 85-2 v Surrey 225 & 389

Tom Curran takes a much-needed wicket for Surrey as Michael Lumb edges him behind for two.

Notts only need another 84, but Surrey will still feel they're in this.
