We've certainly seen some fine batting during the opening round of the 2016 County Championship season.

Ben Duckett's unbeaten 282, Ian Bell's 174 and a century in each innings for Durham opener Keaton Jennings were just some of the highlights.

But what's the best innings you've ever seen in a County Championship match? It doesn't have to be the highest score, maybe the most important innings or exciting.

  15. 'He proved people wrong'published at 13:44 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

James Taylor retires because of heart condition

England Test captain Alastair Cook told BBC Essex:

"He proved people wrong time and time again and was a great character to have around the dressing room. Those short leg catches in South Africa, doing the hard work for the team.

"It's a career cut very short but on the flip side at least it's been detected and we're not talking about something a lot worse.

"All our thoughts are with him, his family. Hopefully the operation can go well and we'll see him around, and adding his talent to the English game in a different way."

  16. 'We were just seeing the best of him'published at 13:42 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

James Taylor retires because of heart condition

England Test captain Alastair Cook told BBC Essex:

"I think we were just seeing the best of him - he would have played in that first Test match.

"It's a great shock, it's very sad, but if there's a guy that can handle what he's going through, it's him because of his character. That's why he's been such a successful cricketer, he's a very down to earth guy and all are thoughts are with him.

"One of his great strengths was finding a way. First time I came across him here, I don't know if he got 200, but he got a very big hundred playing for Leicestershire against Danish (Kaneria) on a spinning wicket. The way he played spin was fantastic and he found a way."

James Taylor retires because of heart condition

England Test captain Alastair Cook told BBC Essex:

"When I found out on Monday night it was a huge shock, and a realisation of how lucky we are that we are able to play this great game.

"All our thoughts are obviously with James, I know he's got a big operation this week - hopefully that goes well and he can be one of the lucky ones where this was picked up early enough."

  20. 'Woakes has sore hamstring'published at 13:14 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Hampshire 202 & 18-0 v Warwickshire 360 - Lunch

BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James at the Ageas Bowl:

"Chris Woakes didn't take to the field for the 35 minutes that Hampshire batted up to lunch in their second innings. Apparently he has a sore hamstring.

"Hampshire who began their second innings 158 runs in arrears, safely negotiated the 10 overs up to the break.

"The pitch looks easy paced now even with the new ball, and Keith Barker who took five early wickets in Hampshire's first innings isn't getting the same amount of movement this time around."
