    Misbah c Hales b Moeen 0 (Pak 60-4)

Misbah, the marauder of Moeen in the first innings, has just holed out in the deep. He heaves a short-ish ball over the top on the leg side, and Alex Hales runs in from way out to take a good catch. The Pakistan captain could not believe it, just could not. He stood at the wicket for an age before trudging off.

Could you ever imagine the film Hagrid being a fan of monocles? Well, our hairy substitute in the stands is one. Although he seems to have lost it as well, with television cameras doing a great replay of the dramatic fall. Let's hope he doesn't need to quickly check the scorecard.

Moeen chips in with a tidy over - just the one from it.

David Hill: Harry Potter theme: Bairstow for Ron Weasley and Moeen's beard for Hagrid.

Oli Grant: ‏Surely KP circa 2005 has to be a cousin of Nymphadora Tonks, changing the colour of his hair whenever he so pleases.

Ehsan: Stuart Broad as Neville Longbottom(Matthew Lewis) They are in fact lookalikes now.

A very good over for Woakes and England. Sure, an unlucky decision, but England had a few of those yesterday so they're all evening up in a way.

And I think I've seen the Hagrid character substitute in the crowd just now. Very much of the bushy hair and beard quality (albeit a lot leaner than the film version).

It's unlucky to be out twice like that. It's an identical dismissal to his decision in the first innings.

    Azhar lbw b Woakes 23 (Pak 59-3)

Yes, Woaksey! It was umpire's call in the end, but that's the end of Azhar. He tries to step across to the off side and gets hit just near the top of his left pad. The ball was shown to be clipping leg stump. Enough.

Never mind, Harry Potter, Chris Woakes has got the magic touch today.

He's got to review it, but it might be very similar to his first innings lbw. It only has to be brushing the leg stump.

  8. Umpire review - Azhar Ali lbwpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 16 July 2016

Woakes hits Azhar's front pad with an inswinging delivery. Umpire Dharmasena takes a very long time to give it out, but Azhar goes upstairs.

How have we not thought of the Overton twins as the equivalent of the Weasleys yet?

Moeen Ali comes in from the Pavilion End for his second spell. It's a promising one, as there's an appeal for lbw on Younus, the ball turning in and hitting him on the front pad. Not a very very loud appeal, but enough to keep you interested. No is the answer.

Is Chris Woakes now the first Englishman since IT Botham to have a higher batting average than bowling?

Younus making things even harder for England's bowlers by taking his guard about a foot outside the crease to Woakes. He has to survive another beauty from Woakes who gets a rising ball to swing really well away from the batsman.

I wonder why Dementors are such a sad bunch. Rhubarb sticks?

Boycott has to be a Dementor - listening to him moaning away is like being enveloped in a black cloud and having your soul sucked out.

Some of the sightscreens seem as old as the Lord's balcony. Which is probably why it took about an hour of faffing around before Azhar was satisfied with its position. Broad's over is a maiden and we appear to be getting into the long afternoon period where everyone sort of chills out for a bit.

Who'd have thought when we were in South Africa that we'd be saying the Pakistan batsmen have to see off Chris Woakes? He's head and shoulders above at the moment. It's great to see a player move on so much.

Steve Waugh as Snape? As in you learn to hate him but then realise he had a master plan all along? Hmm..

And a chance for England? Not quite. Woakes makes the ball swing away from Younus who tries to drive through cover but the ball beats everything. There seemed to be a sound of some sort, and every England player went up for the appeal. But umpire says no.

I'd have Steve Waugh as Snape, and the 7 feet tall West Indies bowlers (Garner, Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop) would be pretty terrifying Dementors.

Amazing that Younus manages to keep his bat straight as anything when his legs are going here and there. But he does well to keep Broad's fifth delivery out.

England have to get get Pakistan out for 150 or so. They don't want to chase many more than 200 batting last.

Woakes is really getting the ball close to the batsman's body. Azhar Ali, who has more conventional footwork than his partner, defends solidly but Woakes looking very likely to cause more trouble in this afternoon session.

Very sunny climes at Lord's today. Quite the contrast with Blog HQ here.

Younus didn't look comfortable when the length was short. Maybe his reflexes are going. He does so much moving about.
