    Warwickshire v Lancashire 49-2

Disaster for Alex Davies. The Lancashire opener hits it straight to Will Porterfield at mid-on - direct hit - gone.

Hold on...that's not the only wicket to fall at Edgbaston. This is a biggie...

  2. Kent in troublepublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Nottinghamshire v Kent 74-5

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Kent have lost the wicket of Darren Stevens, leaving them on 74-5 after opting to bat first. Stevens played a loose drive and nicked behind to Chris Read for 10.

Luke Fletcher now has two wickets, adding to James Pattinson’s three.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has survived the carnage and is unbeaten on 27 alongside Will Gidman.

  3. 14-wicket Harmer into the attackpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

Essex turn to spin for the first time this morning. Sorry, this afternoon.

Simon Harmer, fresh from his 14-wicket haul against Warwickshire, comes into the attack.

They'll need a bit more magic from the South African - Dawid Malan and Stevie Eskinazi are batting really well.

Mohammad Amir is also back at the other end.

WICKET Borthwick (c Brooks b Patterson) 31published at 15:23 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Yorkshire v Surrey 75-2

Hello, we're starting to see some wickets in Division One now!

Scott Borthwick is snaffled by Jack Brooks at mid-wicket off Steven Patterson.

Jason Roy comes in at four.

  6. 'What a way to go'published at 15:21 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Warwickshire v Lancashire 44-1

    Stephan Shemilt
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

What a way for Haseeb Hameed to go. Warwickshire had seen something, perhaps the tendency to drive on the up.

There were three catchers in front of the bat and Hameed drilled an uppish, out-of-control drive straight to Ian Bell and a very straight, short mid-on.

Hameed only just about had the strength to drag himself off the field. If his exit is noteworthy, so too is his replacement - Jos Buttler bats at three for Lancashire.

  7. wicket

WICKET Hameed (c Bell b Panayi) 17published at 15:18 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Warwickshire v Lancashire 43-1

Ah, it's just not happening for Haseeb Hameed this season. He's young, he'll bounce back, but the England selectors are going to have a real headache.

It's a first wicket for George Panayi on debut too! The 19-year-old right arm seamer gets him, caught by Ian Bell at mid-on.

Hameed is still averaging less than 20 in 2017 with no fifties in 11 innings.

  8. Hameed sticking in therepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Warwickshire v Lancashire 40-0

With just over a week to go until England's first Test against South Africa, this round would be perfect for opener Haseeb Hameed to get some runs under his belt.

It hasn't been pretty from the youngster so far, but he's hanging on in there at Edgbaston. He's 16 off 59 balls.

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

Bottom of the table Durham are the headline from Division Two, where Paul Collingwood has landed yet another re-build job. He's alongside Ryan Pringle at the crease, with the score 44-5 against Worcestershire.

Northants are moving at a rapid rate at Wantage Road, mainly thanks to Ben Duckett (74 from 55 balls!). They're 90-2 against Leicestershire.

Kent have lost four wickets and are struggling against Nottinghamshire's attack. Sam Billings has just fallen for 30, with the score at 52-4.

Derbyshire are 46-1 versus Glamorgan while Sussex are 29-2 against Gloucestershire.

    Hampshire 51-0 v Somerset

No breakthrough in the first hour for Somerset - are their woes set to continue?

Jimmy Adams (27) and Liam Dawson (20), opening in place of Michael Carberry, have moved past 50 for the hosts.

Batting looks pretty easy on the south coast.

If you walked into the ground at Wantage Road now and didn't realise what was going on this week, you wouldn't think anything was different. A usual County Championship crowd is in and Northants chose to bat first on what looks like a decent pitch.

Both sides clearly wanted to bat - probably because of a used wicket and a forecast that is poor for the next two days - and apart from a little swing there has been little to encourage the bowlers and spin has been introduced very early.

A couple of wickets have gone down to the new ball - the second that kept a little low - and Ben Duckett, restored to the top of the order, has been aggressive as he tries to pick up some form. He's blasted a 41-ball fifty with 12 fours.

After the chaotic first few overs at Chelmsford which saw Middlesex 2-2, Stevie Eskinazi and stand-in skipper Dawid Malan have begun to find the boundary with regularity.

The pink ball has stopped swinging as much too.

A positive start from Surrey against the pink ball. Mark Stoneman struck six handsome boundaries until he was caught behind off Ben Coad for 30.

Rory Burns and Scott Borthwick are settling and Coad has been mighty impressive.A very good first hour at Headingley.

Rapid fifty for Duckettpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Northants 63-2 v Leicestershire

No pink ball worries for Ben Duckett. The Northants opener has been really struggling for form this season, but reaches his third half-century in the competition this season from just 41 balls.

He got there is style too, smashing three successive fours off Dieter Klein. Can be continue to plunder the runs?

  20. Stokes out for noughtpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    Durham 18-5 v Worcestershire

Oh dear, oh dear. Ben Stokes has followed Graham Clark quickly back to the dressing room with no runs to his name.

John Hastings gets the England star with a brute of a delivery, which he can only edge behind. The Worcestershire quick has figures of 3-3, while his new ball partner Joe Leach has the other two wickets to fall.

Durham need a Paul Collingwood rescue mission already.
