By contrast, Bears captain Ian Bell felt his side were second-best today.

He told Sky Sports: "We gave ourselves a chance. We pulled it right back with the ball and we were happy to chase 190, but you need one of your top four to get 80.

"We were a bit off today, and the guys will admit that. We made it a bit easy for them at the start."

Worcestershire skipper Joe Leach was delighted with how his team performed today and thinks they might have found some momentum in the competition.

"We spent a lot of time working on our bowling plans and it seems to be paying off now," he told Sky Sports.

"We've won three of our last four games, so hopefully we're timing our run well."

Dom Sibley (49), Grant Elliott (38) and Aaron Thomason (33) kept the Bears in the game, but Mitchell Santner's 3-16, the Rapids' bowling tactics and clever use of the long boundary took the away side home.

Earlier on John Hastings' 51 off 20 balls and Joe Clarke's 34 off 15 did the damage for the Rapids with the bat.

The Bears' four-game winning run comes to an end, while Worcestershire pick up just their third win in nine T20 Blast games.

Valiant effort from Aaron Thomason, whose outside edge brings a much-needed boundary. He scampers another two, but Alex Mellor at the other end struggles to get the ball away. They take nine off Joe Leach's over, leaving 19 to win.

• It's too little too late for Leicestershire, who've fallen just short in the final over against Lancashire, who have won by four runs.
• In tonight's delayed game, Gloucestershire need another 42 runs against Somerset and have 31 balls remaining.
• Essex have got another three overs to find 21 runs against Hampshire.
• Derbyshire need 28 runs with two overs to spare against Nottinghamshire and Sussex are in the ascendency against Kent as they need just 16 more runs from 22 balls.

John Hastings has all the tricks. His first four balls go: off-cutter, yorker, slower-ball bouncer, wide yorker.

However, Aaron Thomason gets hold of a full toss, the fifth ball, clubbing it over the legside for six. He then uses some baseball-style running to slide in for a two.

• What a thriller at Chester-le-Street! It all went down to the final over and despite a valiant effort from Yorkshire, they've fallen just one run short of their target and Durham have won in front of 6,500 in attendance. Thrilling stuff.
• Elsewhere, Glamorgan are keeping the pressure on at the top of the South Group. They've beaten Surrey by six runs.
• Leicestershire are leaving it late against Lancashire. They've got 9 balls to get 20 runs.

About time, really. Grant Elliott gets down on one knee and absolutely middles a length ball from Patrick Brown, sending it miles back into the home crowd on the legside.

He slashes another past backward point for four and a scrambled two makes it 14 runs off the over. Better from the hosts. Elliott has 32.

The Bears bring their hundred up, but they're really behind the game now. Television's very own WASP gives them just 9% chance of doing it.

Really well bowled, Patrick Brown. The youngster dropped Dom Sibley a few overs back, but he's kept his nerves in his first over.

The right-arm seamer pretty much nails six yorkers, going for just six runs. His captain will be delighted with that result.
