    Northants 310 & 209-3 (57.1 overs) v Glamorgan 207 & 320

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

A cloud-burst with Northants just nine runs short of victory has delayed the inevitable visitors' victory in Cardiff, but with the skies clearing it should be just a matter of time.

Richard Levi did his best to get them home with the rain approaching, as he smashed 31 in as many balls including a straight six off Marchant de Lange.

Earlier night-watchman Simon Kerrigan equalled his previous first-class best of 62 before leaving a straight delivery from Michael Hogan, while Rob Newton hit his second half-century of the match.

But Glamorgan's drainage system is good enough for Northants not to worry too much about getting back on, with an inspection due after an early tea.

  7. Middlesex gain first-innings leadpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 15 September 2017

    Middlesex 204 v Hampshire 146

Tea is taken at Uxbridge after England paceman Steven Finn yorks Fidel Edwards for figures of 3-41 to bring Hampshire's first innings to an end. Failure to achieve any batting points could cost the visitors, who are not safe from relegation despite starting this game third in DIvision One. Middlesex lead by 58.

    Worcestershire 493 & 89-3 (22 overs) v Leicestershire 404 & 220

Worcestershire are ticking off the runs.

They now need less than 50 with Joe Clarke and George Rhodes in the middle.

Score another 43 and they'll be top of the Division Two table.

Another four to Luke Wright and now he and Stiaan van Zyl have put put on 50 for the fourth wicket.

  10. Surrey seek new-ball impactpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 15 September 2017

    Surrey 592 v Yorkshire 394 & 247-2 (81 overs)

Surrey take the new ball at the Oval and Sam Curran sends down five dotters to Shaun Marsh before the left-hander finds the boundary from the sixth.

The next time we see Marsh bat he could be facing England in the Ashes series opener in Brisbane on 23 November - that is what he'll be hoping, certainly.

Yorkshire now 49 in front and must be starting to feel reasonably secure.

  11. Early tea in Cardiffpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 15 September 2017

The Sussex man hits two fours off Will Davis and now has 26 to his name.

There is still a long way to go in this chase but Sussex now need less than 200 to win - 198 more runs to be precise.

An unlucky dismissal for Kyle Abbott as bowler James Harris deflects a drive by Gareth Berg into the stumps at the non-striker's end.

It is followed in the next over by the downfall of Berg, who is bowled by Tom Helm for 22, as Middlesex collect all three bowling points.

Hampshire now lost five wickets for 33 runs in the space of nine overs.
