Australia still trail by 93 runs. The number one ranked batsman is still at the crease. Grab a coffee and keep your eyes and ears on this one.

Oh, seriously, that is such a good catch from Broad. To get down that quickly, to have the reactions and awareness to know where the ball is. Brilliant. He welcomes Pat Cummins to the crease by beating his outside edge. Cummins, wisely, defends the final ball of the over away.

    Comeback! What a catch!

Mitch Starc gets done over by a short delivery from Stuart Broad, his mouth hanging open as he gets turned over, and Broad does brilliantly well to get down quickly and get his hands underneath it. That is not an easy catch to take, and Broad has pulled it off perfectly.

That's probably the right approach for the lower order on this ground - just try to put it in the stands because it's so slow off the pitch.

Off the mark with a six! Oh, what a shot that is from Mitchell Starc! He stands tall, drives down the ground and the ball just whizzes over the rope. That is superb.

An extra bit of nip with the new ball and it's a really good catch from Bairstow as it was moving at some pace. Perfect for England and Anderson.

    Trail by 100

Starc sees off Anderson's final two deliveries, and the England man gets a warm round of applause from the Barmy Army. A wicket maiden with the new ball. Lovely stuff.

You know that heart eyes emoji? It was made for deliveries like that.

    Here's Mitchell Starc.

    Paine c Bairstow b Anderson 13 (Aus 202-6)

    Gone! Done by a beauty!

That is superb new ball bowling by James Anderson. He got some movement straight away and he gets this delivery to move away from Tim Paine, who gropes outside off stump and sends an edge through to Bairstow.

It's a fine catch from Bairstow, too, diving to his right.

James Anderson has a shiny red cherry in his hands. He's looking at it rather disdainfully, all the same.

Moeen to bowl the final over before the new ball, over the wicket to Smith who is happy to just rock back and prod the first three deliveries back to the bowler.

"Lovely, lovely, lovely," reckons Bairstow behind the stumps.

A flick round the corner, no run again. Another flick but this time Smith beats the man at backward square leg and jogs a couple - that's 200 up for the hosts.

One last chance with old ball - Smith finds that man round the corner and that's that.

Smith makes Root wait as he goes through his fidgety warm up routine, and then the Australia captain is on the move straight away to whip a single to mid-wicket. Paine almost does the splits as he shapes to pad away a ball from Root, before Bairstow does a bit of juggling to catch a delivery that drifts down leg. A speedy over, there.

Joe Root has been terrific so far - we need to wait a few more weeks to judge him properly but his captaincy has been fascinating to watch.

His plan is to put fielders where he thinks the ball is going to go in the air and not worry about tradition and history.

    Smith 76, Paine 11

Hello to you too, Darren. Moeen is going to continue, with a slip and short leg, and Moeen dives extremely well in his follow through to cut off a firm whack from Paine. Moeen spins through a tidy over to push England closer to the new ball.
