Curran drops short and Warner dismisses it with a short-arm pull through mid-wicket for four. Easily the shot of the day so far that.
Another lovely stroke to square leg brings him two, before he flicks round the corner for another couple. Practically motoring along in the context of this morning.
A leave, then a drive, with Dawid Malan making a fine diving stop to prevent more runs.

Things you can't unsee once you've spotted them: Umpire S Ravi walking in from square leg. David Warner undoing his gloves after every delivery he faces.
Warner 60, Smith 32
Moeen tidy enough but not really threatening as Smith and Warner calmly pick up a single apiece.

Simon Hallett: Surely Moeen is bowing for his place here, what more motivation do you need to put more revs on the ball?!
Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
England need a bit of good fortune. It is not just flat but slow as well. If a batsman is half defeated in length or line it is so slow and they have time to adjust.
There are foot holes if you are bowling from the members' end, particularly for the left-hander. Unfortunately Moeen has just been ineffective all series. You need to get some revs and momentum into the ball.

Lovely first over from Curran, varying his line, length and pace well.
The last one rises and forces Warner to lean back and out of the way.
Here comes Tom Curran. Can he make Steve Smith also his second wicket in Test cricket?
Or get revenge on David Warner after that no-ball dismissal?
We have a brief delay before he gets going as a man clambers across the white seat covering that doubles a sight screen to retrieve a plastic bag.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
England have got to be a bit braver here. There is nothing to lose.
Bring mid-wicket up and put him at second slip and say "go on try and hit it over the leg-side."
Warner 59, Smith 31
Moeen tosses it up too far in search of those footholes, Warner smashing away a full toss to the cover boundary for four.
And the defensive field just allows Warner to tap it away for one to get off strike.
Smith happy to just fend away the rest off his pads for no run.

Paul Richards: Re: Stephan Shemilt at 23:22 - there's plenty of disgruntled murmuring here about the ticket prices today. Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth all got $1 entry on Day five...but Cricket Australia decided to go for the full $30 in Melbourne. Locals duly stayed away (myself included)

Steve Smith, every ball he's shuffling - across his stumps to get in behind and defend.
Another maiden for Stuart Broad. Another minor win for Smith.

A second slip needs to come in here for Moeen. That was as good an over as we have seen from him in this series.
The field tells me Joe Root has no confidence in him.
Moeen Ali has some footholes just outside the off-stump line of the left-hander to target.
He gets one to bite a bit and also draws a thickish edge from Warner after Smith clipped away the first ball for one.
He's short on form but Moeen deserves a more attacking field out there.

Ground Hopping Buck: This pitch is an absolute road. Will we ever see a balanced battle between bat and ball?
Ewan M: Come on, England! ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!! Stop being so defensive - what’ve you got to lose?
Aaron Cheetham: Time for a new England hero. Enter Tom Curran.

Warner drives out another full ball to deep cover for one.
Smith then drives down the ground for another one.
All very sedate. England need to spark something and soon.

In the last 19 Test matches there has only been one draw in Melbourne. That is the best percentage of any ground in the world over that period.
Other options for Ashton Agar's nickname could include Plate or Petri.
I digress. Here's Broad to Warner, who drives a full ball out to deep point for one.
Short one next up and Smith pulls it square for a single.
A man runs out with a hammer and proceeds to bang down the pitch around where Broad's front foot is landing. The MCG mustn't own one of those ground tamper-downer thingys you get in the UK.
It's a great shame that Ashton Agar's nickname isn't Jelly.
That's one for you, biology fans.
Away from this Test, Australia have confirmed spinner Ashton Agar has been called into the squad for the fifth Test in Sydney.
You may well remember Agar for his remarkable innings of 98 on debut in the 2013 Ashes series.
He has only played two Tests since that Ashes series, both in Bangladesh earlier this year. He has nine wickets in his four matches.
