    That would've been given out. Crane has been denied his first Test wicket by a no ball, joining Ben Stokes, Mark Wood and Tom Curran.

    Here's Shaun Marsh, who was probably looking forward to a long, leisurely lunch a few minutes ago. Oh! That's great from Moeen! He turns one past Marsh's outside edge, the batsman pressing forward, and there's a big puff of dust as the ball spins past the bat.

    A little whirl of the wrists from Marsh and a shimmy down the pitch gets him off the mark.

    I genuinely looked up and thought I was seeing things. Steve Smith has chipped Moeen Ali's first ball straight back to him. It's a fine catch from Moeen, getting down quickly to take a low snaffle and get both hands underneath the ball. I wonder if that turned a little - the ball came off the inside edge of the bat. Moeen is mobbed by his teammates in celebration.

    Steve Smith works Mason Crane for a single before Usman Khawaja gets down on on knee and tries to sweep him into the stands. Khawaja misses, though, ending up swishing ta fresh air as Bairstow grabs the ball and knocks off the bails for good measure.
