Nick Russell: They are calling it the Lord's of East Africa. My favourite ground is the new pitch in Rwanda!

  2. Still raining in Aucklandpublished at 03:00 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2018

News from Auckland for a second...

Basically it is still raining. The 20-minute tea interval has been taken and should be coming to an end around now but that's not going to happen.

If you weren't with us earlier, just 17 balls have been bowled so far today due to the weather.

    Still we wait.

We've had a couple of people mention Brockton Oval. Here's what Bradman had to say on the ground...

"The Brockton Point ground is the prettiest upon which it has been my pleasure to play.

"It is really a magnificent setting, and I wish that some of our more important games could be played under these ideal circumstances."

If you're just wandering in in the early hours of Saturday morning or have woken up and flicked to this live text for the latest on the Test match, I am sorry to inform you it is raining again.

We started play at 00:30 GMT but just 17 balls were bowled before the rain came and the players have been off ever since.

No wickets fell and New Zealand added four runs.

To fill the time we're discussing the most picturesque cricket grounds you've played or spectated at.
