Edward Taylor: That's three wickets from bowling changes this morning. In a low scoring run chase that is so crucial. Great captaincy from Joe Root.

A chap in the Hollies has just told me I'm in his seat. Where's he been all morning?

  3. Ind 154-9published at 50.4 overs

Hardik Pandya is turning down singles, like Virat Kohli did in the first innings. He has the opportunity for one on the first four balls but doesn't take it. He's protecting India's number 11.

Two balls left. The field comes up.

When Virat Kohli put on 57 with Umesh Yadav in the first innings, it was full of control.

Hardik Pandya is just going to try and launch it out of Birmingham. Every fielder has a chance of taking a catch here.

England need one wicket - India need 40 runs

Stuart Broad had his shirt pulled up over his face while that replay was being played on the big screen. He couldn't watch.

Virat Kohli is motionless in the dressing room, staring wide-eyed.

England need one wicket. Umesh Yadav joins Hardik Pandya in the middle.

It's beautiful bowling by Adil Rashid and Joe Root deserves credit.

The England captain has got everything spot on this morning and putting on the leg-spinner there was a smart move.

Red. Red. Red. That is out! England are one away. Fair play to Joe Root. He made the big call of bringing Adil Rashid on and it has paid off. He can see the relief as he celebrates. Well done to Adil Rashid too. After everything that went on before this game, he's delivered.

Big googly from Adil Rashid. Ishant Sharma doesn't pick it and is hit on the pad. Given not out.

    It's tight. Going down?

I can understand this - Adil Rashid has a reputation for cleaning up tails.

But if Ishant Sharma gets off strike and Hardik Pandya lays into Rashid for an over or two, it's risky.

Joe Root is turning to Adil Rashid to try and blow away the Indian lower order. Ishant had no idea what was coming out of the spinner's hand in the first innings.
