That's us done for the day - we'll be back on Tuesday for the third ODI at Bristol.

    In a bit.

  2. 'I did my celebration the wrong way'published at 19:49 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

More from Buttler to Sky Sports: "I'm sleeping pretty well. I had three weeks off and I've always enjoyed time away from the game. Though I was getting itchy feet after about two weeks!

"Lou and Georgia were actually sat over the other side so I did my rocking the baby celebration the wrong way."

England keeper Jos Buttler, speaking to Sky Sports: "They pushed us all the way and were probably favourites for long spells of the chase after Fakhar Zaman's brilliant century.

"But David Willey executed his plans very well. Conditions dictate that it makes sense to bowl short to the lefties and wide yorkers to the right-handed batsmen.

"It was reversing a little bit at the end. For a bowler that's key and gives you a bit of margin for error.

"Batting was a lot of fun. It was such a great wicket and we bat so deep it allows us to be so aggressive early on and expand that period of death overs."

  4. 'His freakish knocks are getting closer together'published at 19:47 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

Eoin Morgan on Jos Buttler: "He's really good. I was in prime position for that innings. His freakish knocks seems to be getting closer together, which is a great thing for us.

"He has a gear that not many of us has. I don't have it but it's great to watch.

"He always seems to time his run really well. He always has enough balls to bash a hundred. He was the difference between the sides today."

  5. Man of the match - Jos Buttlerpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

England man of the match Jos Buttler: "It was very special and great to have my daughter here. I'm delighted to play that way back in an England shirt this summer.

"Cricket has developed in the last few years and I've worked hard to expand my range. We've worked on trying to extend the last 10 overs into the last 15 overs because we bat so deep so can stay aggressive.

"We just started by trying to build that partnership. Eoin was plying fantastically well and the guys had set a great platform so we were just trying to get as many as we could as fast as we could."

More from Eoin Morgan at the presentation: "It was a belting wicket. We had to run a hell of a lot of twos and build momentum in partnerships.

"If the wicket did anything it maybe held up from short of a length so we tried to do that to Fakhar. But that was the only slight deficiency in the pitch - otherwise it was a day for the batsmen.

"The shift in pressure was on our bowlers so that fact we did it under pressure was really good."

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid didn't have their best days but they are going to be key for England in the World Cup.

Chris Woakes is coming back from injury. Liam Plunkett bowled well today. Then England have got Jofra Archer, Tom Curran and Chris Jordan to also call on.

I don't think the bowling is too much of a worry.

  8. We always believed - Morganpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

England captain Eoin Morgan, speaking at the presentation: "We always still believed - 374 is a tough total to chase down. Hopefully make better plans and execute better to him

"Posting 373 for us is very satisfying and defending it more so, particularly under pressure at the end."

That was a great game of cricket. There were some fantastic performances all the way through the game. England's openers played sensibly at the top and built a great platform then Jos Buttler did was Jos Buttler does.

It was a really great effort from Pakistan in the chase. Some teams chasing a big total go too hard at the top but they played the situation really well and could've won it right up until the last two or three overs of the game.

More from Jos Buttler to TMS: "In the last four years in England we've played on some fantastic one-day wickets for batting. I think there will be some used wickets as well during the World Cup with the amount of games though.

"This series is fantastic for us - we've got a bigger squad so gives us opportunity for guys to get games under their belt before the tournament.

"Whether you win by 100 runs or 10 runs it's what we need to do. You want to come out of these games on the right side."

David Willey bowled quite superbly at the death today. Until those last couple of overs, England looked like they sorely missed Jofra Archer’s pace and Tom Curran’s variety, but came good in the end. I genuinely have no idea whom they’ll pick come the WC. Good arguments for all the seamers.

Eoin Morgan just said that Jos Buttler was "probably the difference between the two teams".

It's hard to argue with that.

Fakhar Zaman just found an outlet when the pressure was on. He could always find a four or six to put the pressure on England.

Pakistan just needed him or another of the top order to go a bit deeper.

More from Jos Buttler to TMS: "We've played a lot of cricket here so we know the dimensions of the ground can be tough to defend. There are lots of twos on offer as well as boundaries so the runs can get away from you. But the guys executed well.

"It's always nice when you come in and a great platform has been set for you - it allows us to be ultra aggressive."

  15. 'Hard to take'published at 19:32 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed: "It's hard to take when we are very close. I'm very proud of the team -the way Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Asif Ali are playing, it's a great sign for upcoming matches.

"T20 cricket is definitely helping us. If you play that, you know how to play in these type of matches.

David Willey executed his skills brilliantly. He was the pick of England's bowlers today. They aren't the best figures but as a bowler you are happy with anything under 60 off your 10 overs in ODI cricket today.

It puts another doubt in the selectors' minds. Do you leave Willey out if Jofra Archer is going to come in?

  18. 'World Cup will be full of these situations'published at 19:27 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

    BBC Test Match Special

England keeper Jos Buttler, speaking to TMS: "They pushed us all the way. That was a good game of cricket. Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant century to really put us under pressure.

"David Willey was outstanding at the end and executed his plans really well.

"The World Cup is going to be full of these situations in must-win games, Pakistan are a quality outfit so know this is going to be a tough series and we expect games like this."
