In the air from Travis Head, not particularly controlled, but he gets enough bat on a leggy delivery to flick it over Rory Burns' head and away for four. That was just a shade over 90mph.

Head is squared up by the next delivery, an outside edge wobbling away to point, before he ends the over with a half-shout for lbw. Going down?

Short, into the ribs from Jofra Archer, but Marnus Labuschagne plonks it to mid-on for a single.

What's he trying to do? That was nearly catching practice.

  4. Aus 63-3published at 20.1 overs

Ooh! Marnus Labuschagne can't resist a fiddle outside his off stump, trying to uppercut Jofra Archer up and over the slips, and he ends up swishing at fresh air.

Well, what do I know - Jofra Archer will have another over, and Rory Burns has been told to whack his pads on and go in at silly point.

This is a good field for Jack Leach, as Marnus Labuschagne shuffles onto the back foot and gives himself some room, but his drive is cut off by the waiting man at cover.

Labuschagne works an easy single through mid-wicket to end the over.

You feel this might be Archer's last over for this spell, you feel he has just dropped with that intensity and it just doesn't have that sting behind it.

  10. Aus 62-3published at 19 overs

Jofra Archer's speeds have just dropped slightly - although they're still coming down at 86mph.

He squares up Marnus Labuschagne slightly but the Australia batsman picks up a loose ball to thrash three through the covers. I think it might be time for a rest for Archer.

It's been an amazing day, an amazing Test match. This morning I thought Australia had a big chance of winning this.

  13. Aus 59-3published at 18 overs

Jack Leach has the right-handed Marnus Labuschagne to contend with but he still finds some turn and drift in to the batsman.

Tidy stuff from the England spinner, and all Labuschagne can do is push a single to mid-wicket.

With Archer it's his pace, he bowls quick and the pace difference is significant. But also he has got that second gear and his bouncer is not as short as most, he gets that whip from his action so batsmen can't get underneath it, almost a ball you feel you could play on the back foot - but you can't.

It just shows jitters. He was out if that throw had hit.

  17. Aus 58-3published at 17 overs

    Nervy out there!

Jofra Archer gets a delivery to jag back into Marnus Labuschagne, smashing him in the stomach. Travis Head is already halfway down the pitch and Labuschagne has to hustle. Rory Burns aims at the stumps and if he hits, Labuschagne would be struggling - but it just skips past the stumps and away for overthrows.

  18. Aus 53-3published at 7.5 overs

Beauty! Jofra Archer drags his length back and beats Marnus Labuschagne as he goes poking outside his off stump.

There's some away movement for Archer but this latest short ball is too wide to trouble Labuschagne.

He's not watching the ball. This is a serious situation in the game - they could lose from here.
