Bancroft is lured into a wide one from Broad, who offers him a few words of advice. He always seems so polite in those excellent Broad and Fry podcasts too...

Then there is an edge, but it bounces well short of Root at first slip and the final ball is clipped off the pads for four. Back to Archer.

What is going to happen in this game? England enjoy these kind of moments.

Fantastic noise at the Home of Cricket, 1-2 from Archer's first two overs and 44 overs remain.

An Archer bouncer at 91.9mph to start with for Usman Khawaja.

That's four consecutive single innings figures for David Warner.

Well, there you have it. That's why Archer's on! He gets the crowd going and that is a perfect delivery, round the wicket to Warner.

That was such a low catch, at boot height. Great reactions.

    Warner c Burns b Archer 5 (Aus 13-1)

Hang on there Mark...a tentative prod and superbly taken low at third slip. So 15 runs in three innings for Warner. And England supporters worry about their top order.

The pitch is flat and there's no swing. Australia should see out the day with ease but since cricket is a bonkers game you never know.

I had a thought that Warner might just have a go here and get himself into this Test series. I wonder if in the back of his mind he's thinking with no Smith, he's the senior batsman in this team and he has to be here at the end.

Sunshine again at Lord's and Warner, who has fallen to Broad in all three innings of the series thus far, tries to launch him away off the back foot but makes no contact. A bold approach. Tea in 50 minutes and 45 overs remain.

If I was Root, I'd bowl Archer in a short spell here, let him go short if he wants and get fired up.

Just the single from the first over from England's hench paceman and already he is up at 86.7mph.

I would have gone with Woakes - he's got the ball up there and done enough with it. Archer bowls fast but he's bowled short as well. It's a tough decision for the captain.

Dan: If we're treating this like an ODI I would probably put Bairstow in the field because there is no one quicker at stopping boundaries.
