  • Carey 55* (35). Bumrah 3-61

  1. Aus 18-0published at 5 overs

This is a fine over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar - bar one delivery that strayed down leg for a wide. Some fine fielding by Rohit Sharma prevents a single off the final ball.

I think India have taken the slip out too soon. They're bowling a bit too straight.

  5. Aus 17-0published at 4 overs

Jasprit Bumrah finds the edge of Aaron Finch's bat with his final delivery of the over but it flashes safely down to third man for a single.

    A steady start from Australia.

  6. Aus 16-0published at 3.4 overs

That's a nice shot from Aaron Finch.

Jasprit Bumrah just strays too far down leg and the Australian captain nonchalantly clips the ball square off his pads for four.

Here is that earlier delivery from Jasprit Bumrah to David Warner that somehow failed to dislodge the bails.

Ben: I know it's the way it's always been, but why do the bails have to come off for it to be out? If the ball hits the stumps it should be out.

  9. Aus 10-0published at 3 overs

There is an expectant hush over the Oval right now. Australia are not looking to take any risks just yet though.

  10. Aus 8-0published at 2.2 overs

Oooh, that beat David Warner all ends up. A touch of late swing from Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the ball goes across the left-hander and beats the outside edge of Warner's bat.

    Lovely delivery.

  12. Aus 8-0published at 2 overs

Jasprit Bumrah was magnificent against South Africa earlier this week, taking 3-35.

He responds well to being clunked for four. Just one more run off the over.

They're going to have to look at this - the zing bails are just too heavy to lift off.

  14. Aus 7-0published at 1.3 overs

David Warner makes the most of that let-off by driving beautifully through the covers for four. Frustration for India.

This is ridiculous - it's 80-odd miles per hour and it's hit leg stump. Hard.

The sound was a real clunk - and I expected the next thing to see the zing bails light up.

  17. Aus 3-0published at 1.1 overs

Jasprit Bumrah opens at the other end....and how is that not out?!

David Warner chops onto his boot and the ball rolls onto the stumps, but the bails are not dislodged....again!

Australia have to somehow set that foundation.

  19. Aus 3-0published at 1 over

Looking at the replay and Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to get a touch on to Aaron Finch's drive before it clattered the stumps at the bowler's end. The watchful David Warner made sure he was safely in his crease though.

A run out this early would be disastrous for Australia.

  20. Aus 3-0published at 0.4 overs

David Warner gets off the mark with another dab into the on side.

Aaron Finch then drives the ball straight down the ground and the ball clatters into the stumps. It prevents the boundary, but they are able to run two.
