Aus 16-0published at 3.1 overs
The first six of the day! Aaron Finch climbs into a short one from Shaheen Afridi and launches the ball over the leg side. That was flat and fast. I hope the people in the crowd were paying attention.

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
The way David Warner played in the first two games was like a player who did not want to make a mistake. Warner at his best does not fear making mistakes.
The ground isn't full yet but most those that are here and loudly supporting Pakistan. There are a load of 'ooooos' as the ball goes past Warner's edge at the end of the over.

Fenners: A bowl out like they used to have in old Natwest Trophy is best way, can do it on one of the reserve strips. Offer reduced points for a bowl out win too, eg 1 pt for win, 0.5 for a loss. Like overtime wins in US sport, worth less than a 'proper' win.
Lucas Abbott: Why not have a 'Super Over Day' at the end of the group stages? Any abandoned matches can all be settled on the same day and it would be a bit of quick-fire entertainment.
Unsurprisingly, the Pakistan fielders are wrapped up in multiple layers. 37-year-old Shoaib Malik has to dive to his left to field the ball and that'll really sting the palms. It's not a nice day for fielding.
Amir zips one past Finch's edge again. He's bowling excellently.

I'm a fan of this green mural on the side of the building opposite Taunton. Not the sort of thing you see at the usual international grounds.
Finch 1, Warner 5
Finch gets his first run with a single off his ninth ball. This is not a morning for big heaves. Australia are going to have to overcome a difficult early period.
That's a ripper. Shaheen Afridi beats Aaron Finch. The Australia captain can't get off the mark.

That's a thrilling stoke. That's the Warner we are more used to.
Well there's a suggestion that we might see the attacking David Warner today. He gets one on the hip and whips it away for four runs. They are Australia's first runs of the day.
The towering Shaheen Afridi is starting from the other end with David Warner on strike. How will Warner bat today?

Australia may just have to dig in for the first few overs.
A maiden to start. Finch wildly goes after drive to a wide delivery and misses again. I think Amir might be the bowler I'd fear most in these conditions. He swings it and swings it late.
Mohammed Amir now finds a bit of in-swing. This is a testing and rowdy start with the Pakistan fans chanting Amir's name as he runs to the crease.
Oooo. Amir is right on the money early. There's a bit of nibble and Finch pokes forward without making contact.
Mohammad Amir will bowl the first over. Aaron Finch on strike...

Mlgraham73: The classic cricket dice game Howzat? would be a great way to settle matches and make good radio. “Cottrell now from the radiator end, he’s up to the table, he rolls...” etc.
So Australia will bat first in typically seamer-friendly conditions.
This is an intimate ground with small-ish boundaries.
Ricky Ponting takes his cap off while singing the Aussie anthem. I'm sure his hair wasn't that dark last time I saw him...
