I played against India in the mid-80's and there was great noise - silence of course if we took a wicket - but I don't remember it being as feverish as it has become.

The atmosphere this morning reminded me very much of a big football match at Old Trafford - times five. The guy arriving on a horse, there were hundreds of TV cameras, great colour, singing at each other but not nasty.

I've not seen a better white ball cricketer, Kohli is just so consistent.

Duke and Kookaburra: It only took Kohli *eleven* innings to go from 9000 to 10,000 ODI runs. That would appear to be rather good.

Kohli has become the ninth player to reach 11,000 ODI runs. He did it in his 222nd innings - the previous quickest was Tendulkar, who did it in his 276th innings.

Someone must be able to tell us where that horse is now. It might be at the Old Trafford football ground in central midfield - it couldn't do any worse.

Yep, it's been a bit peculiar seeing India keep up the steady accumulation until late on. The pitch may be tougher than the total suggests.

I suspect India will bowl a lot better on it than Pakistan have.

I think as an England fan I've been a bit spoilt but India should have 400+ here. Great batting track

Mohammad Amir is up to 12 wickets in the tournament in 34 overs. He had taken five wickets in his previous 14 internationals in over 100 overs coming into it.

Mohammad Amir could get in the Indian team, Babar Azam potentially as well, but they are the only two. The Indian team are just better.

About five minutes ago, that stand was a sea of India flags. Now it’s brollies up. It is a bit grim but, having lived in Manchester for four years and experienced every kind of rain there is, I think it should pass over fairly quickly...
