  1. WI 48-2published at 8.1 overs

Er, Chris Gayle has just played the Natmeg.

This is an astonishing yorker from Trent Boult. Gayle gets his foot out of the way and, somehow, dinks the ball between his legs, past the stumps and away for four.

    This went absolutely miles.

  3. WI 44-2published at 8 overs

    Gayle 32, Hetymer 6

Chris Gayle surprises us all by taking a really quick single again, and Shimron Hetmyer defends his final ball from Matt Henry.

Just the 18 from that over...

  4. WI 42-2published at 7.4 overs

    Target 292

And now Matt Henry bangs down a legside wide...

An omnishambles of an over thus far.

    And again!

Short, again, and whacked into the stands once again. Ouch.

  7. 6 runs

    WI 36-2published at 7.2 overs

And of course Chris Gayle hits his next ball for six.

    Of course.

If anyone in this New Zealand side was going to catch that, it's Trent Boult. But it was such a tough chance with the ball going away from him.

  9. dropped catch

Gayle dropped on 15published at 7.1 overs

This is an almighty effort from Trent Boult but he's just spilled the ball at the last minute!

It's up into the air from Chris Gayle, going for a huge pull off Matt Henry, and Boult comes tearing around at fine leg. He leaps, gets a hand to it, and it bounces out of his mitts and ends up going over the ropes.

That will give Shimron Hetmyer confidence.

  13. WI 26-2published at 6.4 overs

Shimron Hetmyer flicks a lovely four off his pads and away through mid-wicket for four.

I'll be honest, I'm still watching the Afghanistan match. Mohammad Nabi has just holed out.

Trent Boult isn't getting any swing but is bowling straight and making it very difficult to score.

    Shimron Hetmyer is coming out.

Afghanistan need 12 runs from four balls to beat India.

    I love cricket.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.1 overs

    Pooran c Latham b Boult 1 (WI 20-2)

    Two for Trent Boult!

A wild, swing of the bat from Nicholas Pooran, trying to muscle Boult out of the attack, and a top edge goes spiralling up to Tom Latham behind the stumps. Latham does well to judge the catch, settling himself under a steepler to take a comfortable catch in the end.

  19. WI 20-1published at 6 overs

    Gayle 15, Pooran 1

Tom Latham makes a terrific diving stop to his left to stop Matt Henry conceding a couple of byes.

That's a better directed short ball, Henry striking Gayle on the upper arm as he swings through his hook too early, and Henry ends the over with three dot balls.

That's why Chris Gayle takes his time at the start to get the pace of the pitch.
