Here's the review that saved Hashim Amla.

He was almost back in the changing room by the time we got to ball-tracking.

I don't think we were ever going to get scores of 500 in this World Cup. The pitches are covered constantly and the groundmen haven't been able to bake them under the sun. I think it's made for some brilliant games.

  3. SA 185-1published at 34 overs

It's not been Lasith Malinga's or Sri Lanka's day.

Faf du Plessis rolls his wrists and flicks away a low full toss for four and that brings up the 150 partnership in exactly 29 overs.

Malinga goes round the wicket for the final ball and Du Plessis drives a length ball for a single.

    South Africa require 19.

Sri Lanka are going to have a final roll of the dice - Lasith Malinga is back on.

I don't think there's been two much difference in the pitches we've played on here compared to outside the World Cup. I think it's just been because of the weather.

There's two matches left here, on Monday and Wednesday. I'll be interested to see if there will be two new pitches. England play here on Wednesday against New Zealand.

  7. SA 178-1published at 33 overs

    Amla 71, du Plessis 77

This is far too easy for South Africa. This is a very different Sri Lanka to the one that beat England last Friday.

A 'round-arm slinger' from Jeevan Mendis - as Charles Dagnall calls it - surprises everyone and almost knocks off the umpires hat. It doesn't trouble Hashim Amla though as he drives to long-on for a single.

That's a beautiful shot from Faf du Plessis though as he gives himself some room and cuts through backward point for four. Glorious.

Nine off the over. 26 required.

Jeevan Mendis is going to continue after the drinks break.

South Africa have shown how to knock off a low total. They haven't been expansive but they've been positive and pushed singles.

This partnership is worth 138 in 27.1 overs - it's been magnificent.

    SA 169-1published at 32 overs

    Amla 69, du Plessis 70

Three singles take South Africa to within 35 runs of victory.

We're going to have a drinks break. Whether we really need one with South Africa so close to victory is a different question.

  15. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 28 June 2019

After smacking the ball out of the ground and causing a replacement to be called for, Faf du Plessis showed the new ball almost equal disdain.

  16. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 28 June 2019

Hmmm, both batsman end the 31st over on 68 with 38 required.

They're going to have to farm the strike well if they want a century.

Martin: It's a shame that there is only room in this innings for either Amla or du Plessis to get a ton, if at all! Great knocks by both... the race is on!

Amla had given it up. I've never seen that before.

Oh wow, the ball has pitched outside leg.

Hashim Amla was almost off the field, he's having a little chuckle to himself.
