Karunaratne is concerned the game is drifting so he's bringing back his gamechanger Lasith Malinga. He'll give him the keys to the city, so to speak, to pick his own field.

Anybody going to Greece on their jollies? Can you get a cable to Mike for us? He's not heard the sad news...

    Thanks Matt.

Surely South Africa aren't going to mess this up. They need 89 from 29 overs at 3.06 runs an over.

  5. SA 115-1published at 21 overs

Need 89 more runs to win

Another over gone. South Africa are four runs closer to their win.

Callum Matthews is going to take over from me to take you to the finish.

  6. SA 115-1published at 20.4 overs

Udana bowled one of the slowest slower balls I've seen against England. He hasn't mixed it up as much today.

Hashim Amla looks frustratingly at ease. I'm no South Africa fan but even I wish he could have batted like this earlier in the tournament.

Matt: I, for one, cannot wait for South Africa to come within five runs of victory before losing all their remaining wickets in one Malinga over.

  8. SA 111-1published at 20 overs

Need 93 more runs to win

Yep. As Scott says, England, Pakistan and Bangladesh fans will be wanting South Africa to calmly knock these runs off. Defeat would mean Sri Lanka stay seventh in the table with two games to go. They'd be two points behind fourth-placed England but Pakistan and Bangladesh would also be above them.

If Sri Lanka lose then is it effectively, if not mathematically, another team out of the equation for a semi-final place.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Amlapublished at 19.1 overs

Easy as you like. Just like it has been for much of this innings. Hashim Amla just prods the ball away off the spinner to reach his well-paced fifty from 56 balls.

Watching Sri Lanka today and wondering how England contrived to lose against them.

South Africa feel utterly in control of this run chase.

  13. SA 105-1published at 19 overs

Need 99 more runs to win

These two are well in now. The partnership is worth 74. South Africa have only had one century stand in the whole tournament. At the moment this pair looks like making it two.

Sri Lanka reached 100 in the 22nd over, so three overs slower, despite scoring 14 more runs in the powerplay.

This partnership started off slowly to make sure they got themselves going but they've picked up the pace now. They got through the threat of Malinga.

  17. SA 98-1published at 18 overs

Need 106 more runs to win

It is a lovely kit. I prefer it to their other one. Sri Lanka have navy blue trousers and there shirt fades from navy to yellow around the ribs.

Hashim Amla is a hit away from a second half-century of this tournament.

Sri Lanka wore this kit against England so wanted to wear it again, they weren't meant to be wearing it today.

It’s time to talk about kits. Sri Lanka is my favourite effort, a lovely two-tone number, New Zealand and West Indies - not so good, more imagination needed.

Faf du Plessis is such a strong man, he looks like a warrior stood there for his team. The bat resting on his shoulder almost sword like.

He muscled that to the boundary, all the work in the gym paid off there.
