  1. Pak 64-1published at 14 overs

Another beauty to end the over, tickled behind maybe? Nope. Afghanistan would have reviewed that had they not burned it already.

Gulbadin is coming back on after some treatment.

  2. Pak 61-1published at 13.3 overs

    Target 228

Nice ball from Mohammad Nabi, drifting in to Babar and then leaving him but it's past the edge. And he then does the same to Imam as well!

    Bowled.

Gulbadin is going off to get that hand looked at.

That was a lovely piece of fielding. Babar Azam is home but Rashid Khan really couldn't have done anything else.

  5. ouch!

    Pak 60-1published at 13 overs

    Target 228

Babar hits a defensive push back, very hard, and Gulbadin throws up a hand to stop the ball and it rattles him right on the end of the finger on his left hand. Ouch, ouch, ouch!

He's OK to continue but no guitar for him tonight.

Six off the over, more good work down on the fence keeps a Babar push down to one.

Ilyas Najib: Babar Azam rightfully deserves his place among the top batsman in the world. He is very classy and makes run scoring look effortless. It’s remarkable he’s got such an amazing record without playing too much cricket in Pakistan.

  9. Pak 54-1published at 12 overs

    Target 228

So far, so swimmingly for Pakistan. How can Afghanistan build some pressure?

That was pushed far too close to Rahmat Shah for Babar's liking.

  11. Pak 53-1published at 11.3 overs

176 more needed. Make that 175, but that's a dodgy single, and Babar could have been toast had that hit...

  12. Pak 52-1published at 11 overs

    Target 228

Almost a chance! Babar is on the back foot to try and just flick away the ball and it's a leading edge, lands a foot or so short of Mujeeb.

    Close.

It's only 50 but the crowd go berserk. That's one thing I have loved about this World Cup, the engagement from the fans has been brilliant.

  14. Pak 51-1published at 10.1 overs

Imam ul-Haq and Babar Azam had only recorded one 50 partnership in their last six stands together before today's game (ODIs).

Make that two. The place goes ballistic.

  15. How's stat?!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 29 June 2019

Mujeeb Ur Rahman has three lbw dismissals at this World Cup; currently the most of any bowler.

  16. Pak 49-1published at 10 overs

A fine throw from the deep splays the stumps but Babar was well safe. Still a cracking noise inside Headingley. There'll be some casualties to this weather if they've not come prepared by the end of play. It's roasting out there.

  17. Pak 45-1published at 9 overs

    Babar looking well set...

Gulbadin Naib is getting a reputation of being a terrible reviewer. He asked the two 19-year-olds - the bowler and keeper - what they thought then. He's got to get a better process.

  20. Pak 44-1published at 8.3 overs

    Target 228

Babar plays properly, lovely straight bat to steer a single to long on. Mujeeb gets some revs on that ball, forcing Imam back in his crease.
