What an all-round performance. It started this morning with fantastic seam bowling, putting Australia under pressure. There then was a great fight back with Steve Smith, the man for a crisis, which got Australia back to par but the bowling-until came back

And then is there better opening partnership in the world than Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy? I can't think of one.

People have queried how good England really are at times in this World Cup but you can't argue with an eight-wicket semi-final win over Australia inside 35 overs. Brilliant with the ball, brilliant in the field and nonchalant class with the bat.

England have answered all of those questions we had this morning. Would the occasion be too much? Would the pressure be too much to bare?

They have come out looking like world champions and if they play like this on Sunday they will be.

It's perhaps the clearest sign of this England's side's mentality that there are hardly any celebrations at all. Just a few polite handshakes and off they go. A case of 'job done'.

New Zealand await in Sunday's final...

Eoin Morgan hit the running runs for four! Leaves Joe Root on 49* but I'm sure the Test skipper will get over it.

Utterly emphatic win for the hosts.
