  1. 6 runs

    Ind 140-6published at 38.4 overs

There goes Jadeja again! Another big hit for six. Another explosion of noise.

  2. Ind 132-6published at 38.1 overs

A wide is cheered like a four. Jadeja has dispensed with his helmet and is batting in a cap. He has overtaken Dhoni now. Maybe we were all looking to the wrong man to play the crucial innings.

Hugo Flaxman: Jadeja at 8 reminds me of all those times Ashwin would come in at the same position in the Test team. Just when things looked bleak, he would just take the game away from the opposition. India still in this, but one wicket will change that.

  4. Ind 131-6published at 38 overs

    Dhoni 22, Jadeja 24

That's a good comeback from Matt Henry. He only concedes a single from the final three balls of the over. India are hanging in there. Next batsman Bhuvneshwar Kumar only averages 15.00. It really has to come from these two.

109 runs are needed from 72 balls.

"Ohhhhh Ravi Jadeja," chant the India fans. They're dancing in the stands.

  6. Ind 130-6published at 37.2 overs

Four more to Jadeja. This is well hit from the left-handed batsman and almost carried for six.

The noise when the ball goes to the rope is remarkable.

I would give Santner a bit of a break here. Even if he bowls another, I'd keep his final over back for the end, to give yourself a bit of variation.

  8. Ind 126-6published at 37 overs

Need another 114 runs to win

I get the impression the productivity of the nation will be low this afternoon. Who knows what it's like in India. It looks like these two are going to take it deep.

Santner continues with another fine over, beating Dhoni on the last delivery. The left-arm spinner has remarkable figures of 2-15. Luckily for India he only has two overs left.

A good over from Matt Henry, helping the required rate creep up.

  11. Ind 123-6published at 36 overs

Need 117 runs to win from 84 balls

Matt Henry is bowling cross-seamers to try and keep the batsman guessing. Good over despite the wide.

Dhoni fiddles away with his gloves at the end of the over as we have seen him do so many times.

  12. Ind 123-6published at 35.4 overs

The extras count is creeping up from New Zealand. Not what you need in a low-scoring game. Henry bowls the ninth wide of the innings.

India have two experienced players at the crease, one right-handed, one left-handed and that means New Zealand are having to adjust all the time.

If they can go run a ball for a while, India still have an outside chance.

  14. Ind 122-6published at 35.3 overs

Cautious from India. They're making sure they don't offer a catch into the deep. Three singles.

There is a sensational atmosphere here. Every single is cheered, the drums pound between deliveries, there’s near silence as the New Zealand bowlers approach the crease.

You can just sense that India are coming back into the game after a nice little period of play.

  19. Ind 119-6published at 35 overs

Need 121 runs from 90 balls

Jadeja may have almost run himself out but this is better from India. They are looking for two and putting the fielders under pressure. On a tricky pitch that is what they're going to have to do. Run hard. The belief of an India win rises a little more in the ground.

  20. Ind 116-6published at 34.2 overs

India don't need a run out! Jadeja gets a little excited going for a second. He has to turn around and would have been out had bowler Mitchell Santner gathered the ball.
