That didn't look a bad shout at all. Perhaps a bit high?
Trent Boult gets his second ball after drinks through Rory Burns' defences and on to the pads.
Massive appeal. Not given.

Rory Burns' shot selection has been a little bit iffy by his high standards. Tim Southee from the first over after lunch went full and wide outside off stump to him and lured him into a few injudicious drives. But he's still there.

Enjoying TMS on the other side of the world here in Patagonia. It has only just got dark here the night before and we are already into the afternoon session the next day. Too much for my primitive brain to handle!

Santner has a big role today when he comes on in this middle session. He needs to keep the scoreboard tight, make sure it's going nowhere while the seamers rest, recuperate and come on in short spells at the other end.

I played domestic cricket with Neil Wagner in 2011 and he gets so angry and red-faced when he's on top of a batsman and not taking wickets. He's got bright blue eyes too. He's a lovely guy off the field though. He is the epitome of white line fever.
I've just had a muffin followed by a packet of crisps, Ruth. Anything goes at this time.

Ruth Brooksbank: The problem with staying awake through the night to listen to TMS is that I'm now feeling hungry. I wonder whether it's too early to have a mince pie?
Run rate 2.50

I sense Wagner is frustrated he's not getting the bounce he normally gets.
Wagner beats Denly's outside edge with a jaffa before the England batsman flicks the final ball away for a single.
Neil Wagner pushes it across and finds the outside edge of Joe Denly's bat but the ball drops well short of Ross Taylor in the slips.

There are three men on the hook shot for Joe Denly - they're saying 'take me on'. He's got to make sure he doesn't fall for that sucker, for sure.
Burns tucks a single off his hips and Wagner v Denly resumes...
