From @MrProject2806: "There are two things that need to change to get the balance right in County Cricket. The season dates need changing to accommodate the weather more and with new counties with promotion and relegation we could have three divisions of seven or eight meaning less games #bbccricket, external"
Surrey 250-2 v Nottinghamshire
Lawks a mercy, we have cricket in Division One.
Yes, Paul Coughlin has a red ball in his hand and is propelling it towards Surrey and England batsman Ollie Pope, who moves to 80 not out with a single.
Pope spoke of Surrey batting once in this game on Monday, so presumably they are about to put their foot down, and one to Scott Borthwick brings them a second batting point.
Leicestershire 155 v Lancashire 2-1 - start delayed

You must be sick of us repeatedly typing the word 'rain' and variations of it - so we're going to let you draw your own conclusions from this photo.
UPDATE: The wet stuff has now stopped at Taunton and there will be an inspection imminently.

More nominations from you for the 'player of the season. It's looking like a one horse race. Keep them coming, please.
From @Colin_Woods: "@BBCSport, external Simon Harmer without a doubt, captained Essex to T20 glory and leading Championship wicket taker by a mile. Hasn't been too shabby with the bat either! #bbccricket, external"
From @ComplicatedGame: "#bbccricket, external Championship player of the season has to be Simon Harmer. But very honourable mentions for Dom Sibley and Darren Stevens. Div 2, I'd go for Ben Sanderson."

The word 'wet' has not been used that often since Marti Pellow and the boys were thinking of a band name.
Middx 260 v Derbys
Tim Murtagh tries to swing Fynn Hudson-Prentice to leg and gets a leading edge to third slip.
That's lunch and Middlesex have frittered away a promising position after reaching 155-2 yesterday.
Dawid Malan top scores with 72. Luis Reece finishes on 4-61.
Middlx 256-9
Tim Murtagh plays and misses outside off but survives.
He gets a single from the last ball with a drive to mid-off.
Luis Reece has 4-54 and bowls to Murtagh...
A slog to the off side and the ball lands in the middle of Dal, Hughes and Conners!
Harris gets a single to leg.
Murtagh swings and is dropped at first slip by Madsen. His hands are wringing.
Yorkshire 261-2 v Warwickshire - close
What a disappointment - there will be no play for the second day running between Warwickshire and Yorkshire.
Umpires Graham Lloyd and Russell Warren - we're name-checking a lot of match officials today - made the decision after taking a look at the outfield, which is still wet after a prolonged soaking yesterday.
There has been no action since Tom Loten was caught off Alex Thomson on the opening day. Yorkshire opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore is 165 not out.
Middx 252-9 v Derbys
Remember when I said lunch at 1240? It ain't happening now Middlesex are nine down.
Fynn Hudson-Prentice angles the ball into Ethan Bamber - who is squared up and stuck on the crease as he edges to first slip.
Tim Murtagh is in the middle.
Gloucestershire 80-6 v Northamptonshire - start delayed
There will be a further inspection at 14:00 at Bristol.
Wonder if the promotion champagne has been ordered?
A draw in this game is all that is needed to send both teams into Division One for 2020, providing Glamorgan do not beat Durham - and expecting them to try and contrive a different result, with only 29.2 overs bowled so far, is probably like expecting turkeys to vote in favour of Christmas.
Harris 20, Bamber 0
Luis Reece has a chance of five-for here.
Ethan Bamber is the Middlesex number ten.
Harris leaves outside off. One more over before lunch.
Middx 252-8 v Derbys
Lunch will be taken at 1240 as it stands after the wretched rain delayed play this morning.
The new batsman is Miguel Cummins.
Harris picks up a single off Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Cummins leaves outside off.
Bowled him! Comprehensively yorked and the middle stump cartwheels out of the ground.
Middx 251-7 v Derbys
Hudson-Prentice strikes Roland-Jones on the pad but that looked a bit high and there's only half an appeal for leg before. Another maiden.
Luis Reece is driven firmly through cover by Harris for one.
Toby Roland-Jones swings and misses outside off. Gone!
Reece seams one in from just outside the line of off stump and the batsman offers no shot.
Thank you to BBC Radio Leicester's Richard Rae for reminding us that whenever there is a prolonged rain delay, there are unsung people who do the 'hard yards' to make cricket possible.
