    Somerset 203 v Essex 111-4

    Middx 260 v Derbys 301-7

Anuj Dal pushes Cummins through the off side for two.

Cummins drops short and a pull round the corner brings four runs, taking Derbyshire past 300.

Dal ducks underneath a very short ball. Over. Have we got time for one more?

No. That's tea. Du Plooy is stuck on 97.

  5. Somerset 203 v Essex 111-3published at 15:10 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Westley 25, Bopara 1

Tom Westley plays Jack Leach away to mid-wicket for two, but is then left groping at thin air as the England left-armer turns a beauty past the outside edge. The Essex batsman's face has a rueful smile.

There are six close fielders close on the off-side as Jack Leach bowls to Tom Westley, plus a backward short leg.

I haven't seen a field like this since I asked my entire team to field within three yards of the bat during Pupils v Masters match at school.

The Masters number 11 took a huge swing and was bowled. If he'd made contact, he might have done serious damage to someone.

It's a maiden. and Leach has 2-20 from 18 overs so far.

  8. Leics 155 & 179-3 v Lancs 170 - Lead by 164published at 15:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Azad 79, Cosgrove 8

Four more runs to Azad with a clip to square leg off Liam Hurt.

Parkinson switches to an off stump line and Rhodes is back and across pushing the ball into the off side.

  9. Middx 260 v Derbys 286-7published at 15:01 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Du Plooy 89, Dal 6

We've got a hold up in play as the ball is going to be changed.

The umpires pore over an assortment of replacement balls in a box.

Here we go. Dal nudges Cummins into the leg side for one.

Edged? Huge appeal for caught behind but the umpire says no.

    Du Plooy survives on 89.

  10. Somerset 203 v Essex 108-2published at 14:57 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Westley 23, Bopara 0

Roelof van der Merwe overpitches and Tom Westley cover drives for four to move into the 20s.

There are a minimum of 28 overs in the game, with tea set to be taken at 15:20.

  11. Leics 155 & 175-3 v Lancs 170 - Lead by 160published at 14:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Azad 75, Cosgrove 8

Liam Hurt beats Azad outside the off stump with a bit of shape away from back of a length.

The last ball of the over is wider and easy to leave.

The leg spinner Matt Parkinson drifts a ball to leg stump but there's no turn and low bounce.

Rhodes plays back and just gets an edge on a straight ball before it hits the pad.

A couple of singles off the last ball.

    WICKET Lawrence c C Overton b Leach 0published at 14:52 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    Somerset 203 v Essex 102-3

Dan Lawrence is surprised by one that spits off the pitch and Craig Overton doesn't have to move at short leg to take the catch - just as well as he is fielding on his knees.

Two wickets in the over - shall we start to get a little excited?

    Somerset 203 v Essex 102-2

The ball after reaching his half-century Alastair Cook pushes forward and Tom Banton pounces on a bat-pad chance at short leg, moving to his right, to end a second-wicket stand of 67 with Tom Westley.

"He's taken the sting out of the match, batting for 53 overs," says former Somerset spin bowler Vic Marks on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra.

Unless he has to bat again later on, a very remote possibility, Cook will finish the season with 883 Championship runs at an average of 44.15, with one hundred and seven fifties.

Rhodes clips away to square for one and Azad glides the last ball to third man for one.

    A Cook 48, Westley 15

Somerset are convinced they have Tom Westley as a superb delivery from Jack Leach turns and bounces, but umpire Rob Bailey decides there was no contact with bat or gloves on the way through to keeper Steven Davies. The TV snickometer suggests that was the correct decision.

  18. Somerset 203 v Essex 93-1published at 14:38 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

Time for another spell from England's Jack Leach. He has three man in a leg trap for Alastair Cook.

The Essex opener flicks a single and is closing in on a half-century.
