My top tip for real Christmas trees is using cheap lemonade instead of water. The sugar keeps them healthier for longer. No needle drop - guaranteed.

I wonder if the Rabada celebration might get him in some hot water. Watch this space. The wicket has lifted Nortje, who serves up a bumper that leaves Sibley in a tangle. Things have certainly got more difficult for England in the past couple of overs.

I have to praise Crawley because he tried to be aggressive and play his natural game. He realised that if you're just going to sit there and be a target, then you're going to get a good ball that gets you out on this pitch.

I think a lot of players sometimes just play defensively because they think if they get out playing that way, the media won't have a go at them.

The actually makes much more sense that sheet or duvet. Tree inside the duvet cover.

Duvet cover. It's the only way.

Rabada was practically screaming in the direction of Crawley as the batsman began the trek off. Joe Denly is the new man. Rabada tells Faf du Plessis he wants another over, which would be the seventh of his spell.

Zak Crawley has looked stylish, but the suspicion that the shots were being played too freely comes to pass.

Kagiso Rabada has his man, drawing Crawley into the drive, with keeper Quinton de Kock diving to his right to do the rest.

England were moving along nicely, but that is a boost for South Africa.

50 runs is quite a significant lead in terms of the percentage of runs scored in the game. So South Africa can't afford to pack behind the bat with catchers - they have to hedge their bets.

The secret with a real Xmas tree is get it early, cut off half an inch of base, keep the stump in water so the xylem vessels suck up the water. Hey presto, very little needle drop.

Nortje creates something straight away. Immediately he finds the crack, but that doesn't stop Crawley from driving. It flies into the gully region and away for four, but it could have gone anywhere. Drinks are being brought on to the field. There are only 45 minutes until lunch. Seems excessive....

What is all that lovely applause? Is it a wicket? Is it a catch? Is it a boundary? No, it's Jack Leach heading to the nets.

Cameras pick up a chap in the top tier. He's in a blue shirt, sunglasses on his head and leant back absolutely sparked out. Maybe he had a big night. I'm not sure if he's also been shown on the big screen in the ground, because there's applause for something. By the end of this Rabada over, he's woken up to new-found fame. Anrich Nortje is getting loose.

We're getting plenty of tips about wrapping your tree in a sheet or duvet before you move it, thus keeping the needle spread to a minimum. That's public service broadcasting.

Philander got Crawley in the first innings and that battle resumes. Philander is again hunting the crack, but, in doing so, is too wide. That doesn't stop him from dishing out some advice to young Zak.
