Ben Stokes is bowling absolute rozzers here. Angle in, nip away. How has Pretorius not edged those last two balls.
Now one keeps low!

That is Bess' best over in terms of length.

It split the field.
SA 241-7
Catch it!
Amazingly, there is a space on the leg side not occupied by a close catcher, and an inside edge drops safe.
Drinks come on to the field. In to the last hour we go.

Sorry Ben, someone's reserved there mate, you'll have to move it again...

Every so often, Philander looks to hit Bess back down the ground. It doesn't seem like the smartest move. Lots of oohs and aahs from England. Lots of hands on heads. When Bess floats one up too far, Philander eases through the covers for four. South African noise.

This is Test cricket at its best. Who's going to win? Who's going to give way? Who's going to be the man who's going to put his hand up?
After this Bess over, the last hour will begin. 15 overs or 60 minutes, whichever comes last will end the game.

Good signs here from Ben Stokes. He's getting into this.

That was an absolute rip-snorter of a delivery. It has done too much.
There are eight catchers. I'm not sure where the ninth fielder is but, wherever it is, he should be catching. On the South Africa balcony, Rabada and Nortje wait, padded up. It was on this ground that Graham Onions did one of his rescue jobs, nine years ago to the day. Play-and-miss from Pretorius. No need to be playing that shot.
16 overs to go.

Bloody Bishop: Cricket causing distractions in my studio today, drawn Dharmesena lift the finger to wake the wicket gods.
Ben Stokes....

Jack: Ben, can you move your car?
17 overs left
So, so much chat from the five fielders and keeper that surround the bat. Philander, remember, is playing his final Test on his home ground. The South Africa fans in the ground make themselves heard when another over ticks by. Surely it's time for Bess to take a break?

On the exercise bike when we got the wicket of Faf, and now again for VDD. Guess I'm pedalling till the end of the day!
