England captain Eoin Morgan: "The performance and level of intensity was improved. I honestly think South Africa had the better of the conditions. The ball skidded on and tested our bowlers.

"The standout for us today was Moeen Ali. To come in and strike the ball like that was such a match-winning innings. Chris Jordan was outstanding. He leads the attack, has a cool, calm head and delivers when it matters. He's a guy you want in your side."

England's Chris Jordan, speaking to Sky Sports: "I don't think we bowled too badly up front - it was just good batting - but we held our nerve at the end. Tom Curran did well, recovering from conceding two boundaries to produce that.

"TC is a very good death bowler and has skills which nobody else has. If he has an instinct about something, you have to let him go with it. He bowled all of that final over on instinct and blocked out all the suggestions we made about bowling a yorker for the final ball, and thankfully he did. I'd back him to defend eight, so I was pleased to give him 15 to play with."
